O Allah, make this year a blessed year for us, open for us the doors of goodness, mercy and provision. And keep away from us evil and trials.
Happy New Hijri Year (1448 AH).
BREAKING: Mallam El-Rufai’s Wife Takes Veiled Swipe at Femi Fani-Kayode.
She wrote:
“A title can open a door. It cannot manufacture substance.
Being an SA public affairs to the President, and then a Minister, and now nominated as an ambassador, sounds very impressive, but the important question is what have you accomplished that people can point to? What have you built? Whose life have you changed? What will remain after your title expires?
History remembers builders, it remembers people who created opportunities, served their communities, inspired others, overcame obstacles, and left something behind that continued to benefit people long after they were gone, people like Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
Secure people build. Insecure people compete with shadows. they may become obsessed with appearances, titles, and attacking the accomplishments of others, others who they are jealous of, others who they envy, others whom they desperately aspire to be, but they don't have the skill set to be them.
It is important to remind certain elements that changing your appearance (bleaching) does not change your contribution to society, You can alter your skin all you like, change clothes as you please, beg for titles, infact worship them, but character, achievement, and legacy cannot be manufactured overnight.
So before celebrating a title, I was this and that, build the substance that gives the title meaning, because eventually, the microphones will be switched off, The cameras will disappear, The titles will become history, And the insults will be forgotten, what will ultimately remain is the “WORK” done, The Impact, that will be your Legacy, and that's what should be celebrated “LEGACY”.
That is the difference between looking important and actually being important, Achievers are not remembered for how loudly they spoke about others. They are remembered for what they built when nobody was watching, and that’s story of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
