As the year comes to a close, our staff are holding an end-of-year reflection to take stock of our work in promoting human rights and fundamental freedoms for #HRDs and strengthening #CSO governance.
These reflections are informing our priorities for 2026 as we deepen efforts to protect human rights and expand civic space in Uganda 🇺🇬.
Our team spent most of this week in the Karamoja sub-region, specifically in Nakapiripirit & Moroto districts, providing hands-on compliance support to NGOs & District NGO Monitoring Committees ( DNMCs) in the area.

Ambassador Kevin this morning made remarks at the quarterly dialogue meeting between the Min of internal Affairs & CSO leaders chaired by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Major General Kahinda Otafiire. The meeting focused on the role of civil society in the upcoming elections.
🗣️As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance #CSOGovernance and relations between @GovUganda and the Uganda’s #CSO sector, we’ve extended this commitment to the community level . Today, we’re at Ocokican Sub-County, Omodoi Parish - Soroti City, convening stakeholders including: community members, Sub County NGO Monitoring Committees(SNMCs), key Local Government Leaders and NGOs/CBOs operating in the area , to among others, increase community awareness of the contributions made by NGOs and CBOs in the area , while also strengthening the understanding of the Sub-County NGO Monitoring Committees (SNMCs) regarding their roles and responsibilities.
