I helped compile a business case for funding broadband for rural schools & communities just before Covid struck. Delighted to see it coming to fruition. Kids need to grow up using tech so that they are ready to carry out the jobs of the future that we can't even imagine yet.
@johncutlefish Hi John. I've also grappled with this & reached similar conclusions. I currently like roadmaps digitally in something like Miro as you can design them to suit any purpose & you can keep main blocks simple while surrounding them with annotations for people who need more detail.
I'm up to number 5 in my list of 9 personal guidelines. This one contains a nice anecdote about me making an idiot of myself at a junior cricket match.

David Baddiel. No chances taken here. David surrounds himself with bookcases and the vaguely hexagonal shape suggests they move round us, closing us in with him in a honeycomb of credibility. The sensation is of being welcomed into the hive of a particularly well-read bee.
I'm sure many of you will know Miro already, but if not and you're struggling to collaborate in lockdown, it might be worth trying. I absolutely love this app and have been using it for all sort of purposes at work in the last couple of years.

Part 4 of my '9 habits' is on smooth the incoming workload of a team or teams so that you maintain a good and highly productive team. This works for me, anyway, and it's something that I'm likely to argue in favour of wherever I'm working in future.

Part 3 of my 9 'habits'. Not aiming to be a guru, writing magic tips for everyone in every situation. Just insight into what interests me, my values & what I might be like to work with. If it's of any use to anyone else, that'd also be great, of course! https://t.co/j75Hnj2vtK
Nothing new in this blog post on the pitfalls of trying to implement processes and doing it really badly, but you can have a good laugh at some ridiculous process diagrams and documents that I once created.

This is a 'big idea' blog post, imaging how we might re-think voting and government to be agile and user-centred in the new digital age. Gulp. I love discussing and debating ideas like this.

New cricket/work blog post in which I try to be better at strategising about media rights than the CEO of the ECB* by pondering the concept of cricket having its own digital platform.
*Unlikely.

New blog post in which I rant about organisations not selling themselves in job ads and failing at the first hurdle to recruit the best people they can afford.
