Earlier this year, Tinubu talked tough about waging war on corruption. Now the same Presidency he leads has just been caught with a "ghost agency, the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, sitting quietly inside the 2026 budget with over ₦1.3 billion allocated to it.

The Presidency itself says the agency does not exist. Yet it had an office at the Federal Secretariat, a CBN account, and was hosting foreign ambassadors for over a year.

How does an agency that "does not exist" survive budget defence before the National Assembly? Budgets don't write themselves. Every line passes through ministries, the Budget Office, the Federal Executive Council, the National Assembly, and finally the President before it becomes law. Heads of agencies are supposed to appear before lawmakers to defend their budget. So either PFIPC's officials sat before the National Assembly and defended a budget for an agency that isn't real, or nobody bothered to check at all.

Either way, it's damning. If the Presidency's claim is true, then the National Assembly failed woefully in its oversight duty; this is exactly why people call it a rubber-stamp Senate. If the claim is false, then we have a bigger cover-up on our hands. Both possibilities are a disgrace.

This is not a small embarrassment; it's a direct hit on Nigeria's credibility. So the real question is: who is actually demarketing this country? Is it the citizens asking hard questions, or the government institutions that let a fictional agency walk away with public funds under their own nose?

The Honourable Minister of Works, Senator Engr. David Umahi, CON, has reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to restoring critical infrastructure in Lagos State, while applauding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership and vision in driving transformative projects across the country.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing federal road and bridge projects in Lagos on Thursday, June 18, 2026, the Minister disclosed that work on the rehabilitation of Eko Bridge is progressing steadily, while mobilization for the construction of the new Carter Bridge is expected to commence this month.

Umahi, who began the day's inspection at Eko Bridge, recalled that the bridge suffered significant damage due to a series of avoidable incidents, including a fire caused by trading activities beneath the structure and repeated collisions by heavy-duty trucks because of inadequate headroom clearance.

According to him, the Federal Ministry of Works has adopted engineering solutions aimed at accelerating the reconstruction process without compromising quality and safety.

"Today, we saw the rebuilding process and, to save time, we decided instead of using concrete beams, we would use T-beams," the Minister stated.

He emphasized that every stage of the project would be closely monitored to ensure strict compliance with engineering designs and construction standards.

"At every stage of that construction, I must be informed to ensure that the engineering design is followed and that the method statement given to the contractor is also followed." he said.

How Goodluck Jonathan's ambition to return as president might end Peter Obi's Presidential aspirations.

What happened yesterday at the former President's house is not a coincidence; it is a well-planned move for his political comeback. Goodluck Jonathan is positioning himself as a visible alternative to President Tinubu in the upcoming election. Jonathan's statement, “I’ve heard you and I’ll consult widely,” clearly indicates his interest in the presidential race.
This could spell game over for Peter Obi's presidential ambitions due to issues surrounding power rotation and northern preferences. Goodluck Jonathan is from the South-South region, and if elected, he would complete eight years of southern leadership (Tinubu's presumed term plus Jonathan's). After that, power would rotate back to the north in 2031.
Another factor is that the north would likely prefer Jonathan over Peter Obi, who they reportedly distrust regarding his promise of a single term. Jonathan serves as a safer bridge candidate for the northern region. In terms of popularity, Jonathan is well-regarded, particularly among youths disillusioned by Buhari and Tinubu’s administrations. Many see him as “the best president Nigeria has had” in recent memory.
Goodluck Jonathan is likely to run under the NDC, and he is expected to secure the party's ticket over Peter Obi, effectively ending Obi's ambitions. The “Obidients” (Obi supporters) may even prioritize Jonathan over Obi to remove Tinubu from power. Northern political actors might also back Jonathan as a more “manageable” candidate who has broader acceptability than Obi.

Disability Inclusion Is Not Charity It Is Smart Development for Ogun State

In Ogun State, thousands of persons living with disabilities (PLWDs) wake up every day ready to learn, work, and contribute yet are blocked not by ability, but by policy neglect. Broken sidewalks, inaccessible schools, discriminatory hiring practices, and limited healthcare access silently exclude a significant portion of our population from Ogun State’s development story.

This exclusion is not just unjust it is costly.

According to global development evidence, societies that fail to include persons with disabilities lose productivity, deepen poverty, and strain social welfare systems. Ogun State cannot afford to leave talent behind.

Disability inclusion is not charity. It is smart governance, economic sense, and a constitutional responsibility under Nigeria’s Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act.

What Ogun State will Do Practically and Affordably

A focused disability inclusion policy does not require reinventing government. It requires intentional budgeting, enforcement, and participation of PLWDs in decision-making.

Below is a proposed annual budget framework Ogun State can adopt or integrate into existing sectoral budgets.

More importantly, it restores dignity.

Accountability and Implementation Matter

Funding alone is not enough. Ogun State must:
• Strengthen the Office for Disability Affairs with enforcement powers
• Mandate accessibility compliance across ministries, departments, and agencies
• Ensure persons with disabilities sit at the policy table
• Track progress through transparent data collection and public reporting

A Call to Action

Ogun State prides itself as a gateway to progress and innovation. True progress, however, is measured by how we treat our most excluded citizens.

Including persons with disabilities is not a favor.
It is not optional.
It is the right thing and the smart thing to do.

Ogun State has the opportunity to lead by example. The question is not whether we can afford disability inclusion.
It is whether we can afford continued exclusion.

Asiwaju @officialABAT and Her Excellency @SenRemiTinubu offer a two-for-one lesson in how strategic partnership can truly work.

At a time when many pretended their wives were unelectable, incapable of contributing value beyond domestic roles; when religious harmony was treated as taboo; and when obedience was demanded under the cloak of “culture” a culture that is ironically un-African the Tinubus chose a different path.

Today, those who dismissed such foresight are left to lick their wounds and rue regrets that came too late.
