@myPhilTaylor But as it stands, despite attempts, it has not been possible to successfully prosecute anybody. Probably because itโs not yet illegal to share fuel costs.
@myPhilTaylor Stated court case in 2024 suggests itโs difficult to prove illegality. Not even a reference to driving without valid insurance. So perhaps not quite the insurance invalidator. It appears that there hasnโt been a successful prosecution since 2015, despite it being common knowledge
@myPhilTaylor Nothing wrong with Jersey lifts. People arranging a lift know itโs not a licensed taxi and take associated minimal risks. The taxi industry has created the market for it.
