I see that the majority of users do not think it will ever reach a target of $100 per $ICP. Most people commenting under this post don't share their reasoning.
I personally believe there is good potential for that, and would like to share my understanding as to why this could happen. Keep in mind this is my own personal opinion and not financial advice. There are adoption/execution/competitiveness challenges, as well as many nuances, that could very well truthfully prevent it from ever reaching that level of price. I am also open to hearing others’ thoughts and opinions on my take.
Now, I am not quite technical when it comes to some parts of ICP technology, relative to other ICP community members. So I am not entirely sure/confident as to how some parts of tech, e.g. cloud engines, can potentially bring more clients/demand for ICP token burns. However, I do have a couple of years of web development experience. So first, I'd like to talk in more depth about how https://t.co/xw8uIV310f web apps could drive usage, that has a potential to increase token burn rate which could make the token scarcer. Naturally this would lead the token’s price to increase.
In my own experience, on https://t.co/xw8uIV310f I've built a few production-ready applications that can very well handle high traffic. As a web developer, I can confidently say most of the apps I would choose to build would be on https://t.co/xw8uIV310f. It's very intuitive to build with it, with their well-made user interface that abstracts technical setups, like setting up domains, email automations, etc. So I would like to think most other web developers would choose to do so too. That said, as it stands, https://t.co/xw8uIV310f still has room for improvement, especially for regular non-developer users. If you do not have a web development background, I imagine it is quite difficult, or nearly impossible, to build a production-ready, high-quality application. As I've seen feedback on https://t.co/xw8uIV310f's Discord server, where users complain about several recurring technical problems. For instance, unexpected large credit deductions from their apps. Even for web developers, such technical problems take time to debug, which can also be difficult(Luckily, I haven't run into them). https://t.co/xw8uIV310f appears to be a serious enterprise. They make visible improvements weekly to monthly, so I believe we'll see these issues fixed. Combined with the upcoming affiliate program incentives, app marketplace, and general improvements, this would attract both more web developers and regular users. I'm hopeful we'll see an increase in higher-quality apps with more traffic. Speaking of apps, in addition, the Pakistan sovereign chat app is being built on ICP. It is designed to scale to hundreds of millions of users. That, combined with cloud engines and DFINITY’s goal of targeting a share of the entire cloud market revenue pie, which is expected to be $2T in 2030. If DFINITY captures 0.1% of that revenue and burns 20% of it, there'd be more than $1M/day in buying pressure.
P.S. In addition, I am personally looking forward to when WebSockets would be integrated into ICP tech. WebSockets allow persistent live connections between users. This would open up a possibility to build many more apps. Like MMOs, social media platforms, etc. Almost all mainstream web apps use WebSockets. To name a few, Facebook, Instagram, X, Twitch, YouTube. Dominic has mentioned in his last Q&A, the support of WebSockets for ICP is sorely needed and he'd love to see that asap (DM me and I will send you that Q&A clip where he talked about WSs).

This entire game (mini-games, progression, dialogue, UI, everything) was built through natural conversation with Caffeine v3.
It’s easily my favorite AI development tool right now.
I’ll be building all future projects here.
Have you tried v3 yet?
When Caffeine v3 dropped, I built a full game with it before writing any review.
After a couple of weeks, I’m genuinely blown away.
The quality jump from v2 is massive — way fewer mistakes, much better at understanding complex requests, and game-changing for solo devs.
