HMRC would allow you to send them more money at any time. 👍‼️

Funny how you argued and won your case NOT to PAY HMRC nearly £5 million quid in an argued tax status .

I would have thought you'd have gladly sent them the extra money 🧐

HMRC said you were a BBC employee and should pay employee rate tax

You claimed you were self employed ..you won ‼️
And paid less tax

To pretend this country hasn’t worked for forty years is absurd.

To imply no adult under the age of 58 has worked in a functioning economy is preposterous.

I wasn’t born into a basket case. When I was born this country had falling energy prices, 4% economic growth, a booming jobs market, entrepreneurialism in spades, a resurgent capital city, a new prosperity. We were on track for a budget surplus.

We had more or less continuous improvement from the early 80s through to the end of the 2000s.

No politician wants to accept the truth: that things broke in 2008, because that’s embarrassing for both Labour (under whose watch it happened) and the Tories (who failed to get us back up to trend).

It’s a shame that when he won convincingly, he drifted so far to the left and helped to land us in this almighty mess we find ourselves in today. An election now might actually make things worse possibly resulting in a four way coalition. Waiting another two or three years for the Tories to get their act together is probably the best way forward.

A constituent has been stuck on the M25 near Oxted for 8 hours. It is 40 degrees in her car. She has kids with her. She is running out of water. The person from the car in front has been airlifted to hospital with dehydration. Police seem to be saying it’s not their job to give out water.

I remember the summer of 1976. We started each day with a warm bottle of (school) milk that had been left out early in the sunshine. There was a jug of water on the table at lunchtime. Didn’t know what sun block even was, never mind applying it. Somehow, we survived it.

They took the yolk out of the egg and sold you a carton of whites with a photograph of an athlete on it.

They boiled the bone out of the stock and sold you a collagen sachet with a picture of someone meditating.

They took the butter off the bread and sold you a spread emulsified from oil they extracted with a petroleum solvent.

They took the offal off the plate, the part your great-grandmother prized, and ground it into pet food, then sold you a multivitamin containing synthetic copies of what the offal gave away for free.

Every single thing they removed, they sold back to you, in a more expensive and less nourishing form.

Your great-grandmother bought a whole animal and wasted none of it.

You buy the same animal, in fourteen separate packets, at four times the price, and you have been trained to call that choice.

Congrats to the duplicitous Andy Burnham on making a success of being a landlord ( what would his lefty mates say? ) having bought a 2-bedroomed flat in London 20 years ago , seeing it double in value to £500K and now being rented out for a handy £3K-3.5K.
Where Burnham was fortunate and other landlords weren’t, is that for years the interest on his mortgage was paid through his expenses because he was an MP.
But he took an even bigger advantage by renting out his place in Kennington and instead rented a place nearby and sent the whole bill to the taxpayer.
That’s now illegal but basically he took advantage of an Xs racket in Parliament making him, in my view, unsuitable to be an MP.
He’s a creep and he wants to bring that thought process to Downing Street.
The more you hear of Burnham the more you know the good people of Makerfield won’t be voting for him.
