We’d loved living by the ocean in California as well as Hawaii, so this location with a 3 acre lagoon was the next closest thing inside of Utah

It’s taken years longer then expected, but stoked to finally have it finished!

As a teenager I had a poster on my bedroom wall of @JerryRice along with this quote of his. It became part of my operating system, and summarizes a lot of my life between age 20-40

Understanding the principle of the law of the harvest, leaning into doing hard things that scare you, and embracing delayed gratification have had a huge impact both for me personally as well as in my businesses. However it seems this mindset is becoming less and less prevalent with younger generations. But it’s a mindset that I hope to instill in my own children

Goals and resolutions are better than nothing - but they usually don’t last because motivation is a fleeting emotion. What’s made a much bigger impact in my life has been investing the time to get very clear on what I really want in my lifetime, then simply REVERSE ENGINEERING which habits are needed to achieve them, then allocating my time and energy accordingly

13 years ago I created a system for this that I call “Lifestyle Design” which encompasses the 10 areas in life (purpose, health, time, family, money, personal dev, business, spiritual, experiences, relationships) that I believe are requisite to living life with intentionality, purpose, passion, and impact

Over the last few years I’ve shared this system with thousands of people whether speaking from stage, executive consulting, or one on one conversations and have received great feedback. One of my personal goals is to create direct value for at least 10M people through out my life - so I’ve decided to add this to my website as a free downloadable template

This system has created enormous value in my life. Happy to share it and hope my friends here on the socials find it valuable as well 👊🏼

We just closed on the largest loan I’ve ever done in my life

Proud of our Axia teams hard work getting the financing for this $50M industrial warehouse development across the finish line, especially in todays challenging lending environment 🙏🏻

Had a few people ask me how it feels guaranteeing $27M and if it’s stressful? Honest answer is YES…but more so it’s excitement! Excited because of the asset class (industrial flex warehouse - which is expected to be the top performing asset class in real estate over the next 5 years), the location (Silicon Slopes), working with the #1 builder in the state (Tom Stuart), and the team (Axia Partners, Brandon Fugal, ParkWest)

There’s a lot of fear and uncertainty being spread in the news headlines right now but I believe as long as we’re always evolving and embracing change, there are always great opportunities to be found (or created). Warren Buffett said it best “be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.”

Looking forward to winning big for our investors in this deal and bringing the project online summer 2024

Bucket List item #37: Running with the bulls ✅

15 years ago I added running with the bulls to the bucket list in my Lifestyle Design. Mission accomplished! Such an epic once in a lifetime experience

Had a lot of takeaways from this experience. Too many to post here. But it’s really interesting how risk can help create clarity

I’ve always believed there are 2 types of people in life, there are Spectators and there are Participants. Throughout my life I’ve always taken pride in being in the arena and participating … and I believe later in life I’ll never look back at these type of opportunities and regret having taking the shot and creating memorable experiences like this one

Grateful that no one in our group was seriously injured, especially considering this was the fastest bull run in over the last 150 runs (the bulls paced over a full minute faster then the average) which resulted in significantly more injuries then normal (300 recorded injuries, 19 hospitalizations)

In addition to Utah being ranked the #1 state in the country for business, industrial warehouse is projected to be the #1 performing asset class across all real estate over the next 5 years 📈📈

I’ve shared a lot about my personal approach to creating a Tax Deductible Lifestyle by intentionally integrating our lifestyle into our businesses (hiring children as employees, business vehicles, qualifying as a real estate professional, using 2nd homes as short term rentals, establishing a family foundation, etc)

Just finished reading Tom Wheelright’s new book this morning “The Win Win Wealth Strategy - 7 investments the government will pay you to invest in”. Very well written book and highly recommend for anyone looking to lower their tax liability👌🏼
