@markwb_88@mikemaca The club deserves no credit at all, it's tarnished its reputation in the biggest way possible, the media have reported it, Southampton have committed the offense, the 3 games are ones they admitted to, how many more were there, conveniently choosing games not won.
@DomShawEcho Their anger is really about themselves, no rules were in place when Leeds did it years ago, now there is, considering they've done it to multiple clubs, and who knows, more, it had to be sanctions, and one which would deter it happening again, no one will attempt again.
@ianbakersport It's interesting to the many ways Southampton fans are looking to try and excuse the club's actions, cheating is cheating. The punishment is correct, it hasn't cost Southampton 200m, you don't have it to lose, it's cost you the chance to win it.
@AdamAzor It's not a 200m fine, there's no guarantee you would win the final, any other sport, if you cheat your disqualified, Southampton have admitted doing it multiple times, disproportionate??
@Bigalanh5 It would be refreshing to see Southampton fans actually acknowledge and accept their club has cheated on multiple occasions, with more possible, instead of suggesting the punishment is too harsh, any other sporting knockout tournament, if you cheat your disqualified.
@dettmer93@EFL Southampton haven't had a 200M fine, there's no guarantee of winning a final, multiple clubs spied on, chances are there are more, Leeds was different as there were no rules then, a fine is no deterrent given how much clubs earn nowadays. Cheating is cheating.
@TomSaintsFC Unfortunately the Southampton fans have been bashing Middlesbrough, when they haven't done a thing wrong. Listen to what your fans were singing at the 2nd leg, it's always good to show a bit of class. All fans are always the innocent party.
@GraemeBandeira@wallsendredicko Spot on, too many see games against lesser opposition as easy, straightforward, these are tough games, ride the journey with the players, give the noise which scares the opposition, help the players, be one, it's a time to be excited, not nervous.
@DanPoore3 Boro, Millwall, Ipswich can say the same, Millwall go to Ipswich next weekend and play at Boro shortly, they will come to play, which will suit Boro. Many twists and turns to come.
@jonathanbye1@DomShawEcho Listening to Kim Hellberg after the game, he summed it up to a T, the quality of finishing was terrible, losing a game like that was ridiculous.
