@nicolawoolcock Isn't the idea to promote equality of routes - having the same name means that "academic" qualifications are more likely to be valued at the same level as the "technical." I also imagine that the same numeracy and literacy elements will be required across "most" subjects.

@RupertLowe10 Pedestrians could say the same about roads, as could car users about rail subsidies. The well could be spared the cost of the NHS, the young could be spared the cost of pensions etc etc
