@Wordofwise_ Jealousy often hides behind humor.
When someone makes a joke at your expense, pay attention to the underlying tone.
It can reveal insecurities or resentment. Don't ignore subtle signs, true friends uplift, they don't belittle.
@flyPAL@bongbongmarcos Our intention in bringing this to your attention was not for personal gain, but to encourage improvements that will benefit all customers in the future. Your response is a move in the right direction. Maraming salamat po.
PAL means PAL-PAK!
I am going to write a thread on my mother-in-law’s recent horror experience with this airline. Sobrang nakakahiya that this company is the Philippines’ flag carrier. Hindi ito paninira dahil totoo. @flyPAL@bongbongmarcos
@flyPAL@bongbongmarcos I raised this concern para naman ma-improve ang sistema. You carry our flag. That is both a tremendous privilege and a responsibility. What you do reflects on all of us as a nation and as a people. Hope PAL personnel can truly embody your company values.
Thanks for reading the thread. We are very disappointed with Philippine Airlines. Ganito nila ituring mga senior citizens at kapwa Pinoy. Pero pag foreigners, mabait sila. 2024 na. Sana naman may magbago na sa bulok na sistema.
My MIL wandered around and tried to find her boarding gate by herself—bad knees and all. She was near tears when she called us from Manila. Ayaw na daw niya bumalik because of the bad experience.
We had lost communication with her once she was on her own and we just learned a few minutes ago when she got to Manila. She informed us, nobody did come to pick her up . Meron pang ground personnel na kunyari may kausap sa phone tapos sabi, “Confirmed na sir.” Asan??
When we got to the security gate that was as far as we are allowed to take her. She has to go in by herself. So we said our goodbyes and we assured her the PAL personnel confirmed someone will come to get her. No one did. She would’ve missed the flight had she waited.
I couldn’t believe my ears! The point wasn’t if nakakalakad ba siya o hindi kundi you offered the service, she signed up for it, therefore, she should receive the promised offer whether she was 3 or 73! So I took one of the wheelchairs sabi ko ako nlng magdadala sa kanya.
They asked me, “Ilang taon na po ba si nanay?” I said, “73.” One of the attendants replied, “Naku sir bata pa naman po pala sya, e.” And they all nodded their heads. “Sir, paglakarin niyo nalang si nanay until the security gate and then someone will assist her there for sure.”
Personally, I don’t ever remember flying with PAL without some incident of bad customer service, rude personnel or overall unpleasantness. But that’s another story.
At this point my MIL was starting to get stressed. She has less than an hour to go through security and get to her boarding gate. 20 minutes go by. Still no one was coming. I called the attention of three ground personnel that were doing “chikahan” and asked for help…
After dropping her bags off at the counter, we’re told to wait at a certain pick up area. After a few minutes, 2 personnel came w/ wheelchairs. We were asked to wait some more dahil uunahin muna daw nila yung ibang pasaherong nagagalit dahil matagal na naghihintay kesa sa amin.
Since when does a Filipino citizen, holding a Philippine passport not allowed entry into her own country based on not registering in some app? That to me is just absurd. With her boarding time fast approaching, somehow we managed to sign her up to the e-travel app.
When we checked her in, we were informed she needed to register through an e-travel app?? Isa pa ‘to. I wasn’t aware na may ganito pala. I asked what it was for, sabi nung nasa desk, “Hindi po siya makakapasok ng Pilipinas kung wala ‘yon.” Ha?!!
It turned out that wasn’t true. The truth was there wasn’t anyone available na magtutulak daw. So okay lang, intindihin. Although we would’ve wanted her travel to be as smooth as possible, tinanggap nalang namin na minsan may mga aberya. So, eto na pauwi na siya kahapon.
She also has trouble walking due to bad knees. So we signed her up for the wheelchair assistance service. We ended up waiting for her almost 2 hours sa arrival gate sa Vancouver dahil ang sabi there were no wheelchairs available. Madami daw kasi sila.
My wife and I invited my mother-in-law last July to spend a few months with us in Canada. We booked her for a direct flight from Manila-Vancouver. Since only PAL offers the direct flight, so sige nalang, no choice. My MIL is in her 70’s and was traveling alone.
