You don’t learn subjects in school by having your parents do your homework.
Training, nutrition, and managing your mind are no different.
You’ll need guidance, support, and structure.
But then you have to do the homework.
The desire for absolute certainty of an outcome before beginning a new pursuit robs you of the unexpected and potentially better outcome that arises along the way.
A lot of people would actually reach their goals if they stopped being so short sighted.
Jumping ship because of a few storm clouds on the horizon doesn’t get you to harbor any quicker.
The longer you play the short game, the harder things get.
The longer you play the long game, the better the rewards.
This happens because just as the accumulation of tiny advantages makes the future easier, the accumulation of tiny disadvantages makes the future harder.
One heuristic to tell how good someone is at making decisions is how much time they have.
The busiest people are often the ones who make the worst decisions. Not only do they have less time to think about the problem, but they are often busy correcting poor past decisions.
It’s real simple.
People get it in their mind that they; can’t, that it won’t work, and that they’re too special, and it’s really hard to get them to un-believe that s***.
The 24-hour rule states that you turn the page every day. No matter what. You can celebrate or cry, but tomorrow you turn the page. Tomorrow is a new day.
Those anchored to the past are incapable of seeing the future.
Learn from the past but don’t hang on to it.
Give yourself direction in and out of the gym.
Lay out goals.
Identify your values.
Create a vision.
Take action.
If you want to get stronger, be more confident, and be happy you can’t go wrong doing the things above.
It will help you in every phase of life.

Are you hitting the muscle group you are trying to hit or are you performing the movement relatively well?
Are you moving in a way that doesn’t unnecessarily stress your joints?
