Fairly recently it struck me that when I hear about some news happening, I actually don't know where to turn to get the details. Considering the existence of the BBC, I found this disconcerting.

If doctors in the UK have to undertake some amount of CPD learning to keep practicing, why can a driver that learned to drive decades ago continue without formally keeping up with changes in transport safety, hazard awareness etc.
Doesn't make sense to me.

@realwillreil @no1089 I second the hot plate idea. I've got a tiny one that works wonders. Note that you'd probably need to switch to a connector with surface mount lugs, as the through hole ones would get in the way of sitting it on the hot plate.
