Visiting the beach with family, friends, and loved ones is a time-honored New England tradition. The Association is disgusted with the violence and unlawful behavior displayed yesterday at Revere Beach. Every family within the Commonwealth deserves to be able to enjoy themselves at our parks and recreational areas without fear of violence or unlawful acts.

The Association would like to commend our members from the Division of Field Services as well as the multiple specialized Sections and Units for their professionalism, restraint, and skilled response. A heavy, reactionary, police intervention is not the sole answer. Our community and faith leaders, elected officials, families, and other stakeholders need to take a stand, say something and end this unacceptable behavior before it escalates further like we saw last summer.
