and there are other things you’re supposed to make look effortless

dating, being attractive, making friends, being healthy, throwing good parties

sf people try openly at the second category too

sf dating sucks. intentionally optimizing dating is cringe

sf parties suck. explicitly trying to “make tech fun” is cringe

people complain sf is all dudes. now there’s a “hot girl renaissance” and somehow that’s also cringe

being healthy is good. aggressively optimizing your health is cringe

a surprising amount of “sf cringe” is just visible effort in places where effort is supposed to stay hidden
