Secretary of State Marco Rubio said a potential agreement with Iran could still take several days as the U.S. carries out defensive strikes and tensions rise around the Strait of Hormuz.

Rubio told reporters that negotiations remain active, but are not close to being finalized. He said the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes, “has to be open” and will be opened “one way or the other.”

U.S. Central Command said it launched defensive strikes against Iranian assets, including boats allegedly attempting to lay naval mines and missile launch sites.

The military said the strikes were meant to protect U.S. troops from threats posed by Iranian forces.

Iranian media also reported that Iranian forces downed a “hostile” drone using a newly deployed air defense system, though the details were not independently confirmed.

President Donald Trump said talks were progressing, but warned there would either be a “Great Deal” or “no Deal at all.”

Trump also said he asked several Muslim-majority countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt, to join the Abraham Accords as part of a broader regional peace push tied to ending the Iran conflict.

Iran recently denied reports that it had reached a nuclear agreement with the U.S., saying it had made no commitments on its nuclear program, stockpiles or facilities.

Get outside more often, try that new thing, say hi to the person next to you on the plane, ask a stranger if you can sit next to them for coffee, go eat alone at that restaurant you want to try, walk in a new place every day for a month, wear the outfit you’ve been afraid is too bold - and compliment someone else on theirs, explore a new city, explore your own city with new eyes, compliment a stranger with no expectations in return, ask someone older than you to tell you one of their favorite life stories, reach out to someone you haven’t talked to in a while just to say you’re thinking of them, go to a new grocery store and start a conversation with someone in every aisle.

The quality of your life is directly linked to how many unplanned positive encounters you have.
