Sense was founded by two mums, Peggy and Margaret.
After contacting rubella during pregnancy, both their children were born deafblind. They quickly realised there wasn’t enough support to help their children, so they took matter into their own hands.

The paediatric surgery team has arrived in Gweru and started day 1 of surgical camp at Gweru Provincial Hospital. Free surgeries for children with hernias thanks to sponsorship from our generous partners. We are celebrating 30yr anniversary of @SurgicalSZ 🥳🥳
"You don't look deafblind."
Deafblindness is different for everyone and not always visible
For #DeafblindAwarenessWeek, the myth-busting team talks about how they have been questioned on their disability based just on appearances.
