⚙️ John Rennie
Rennie was known for his work on bridges, docks and canal construction. His projects include the Lancaster Canal and Rochdale Canal, with his later work on the #KennetAndAvon, including the famous Caen Hill Locks in #Devizes.

@CRTWalesandSW "Ashing the gates" is a traditional method which was used in the canal's industrial heyday. The technique involves pouring the ash into the canal just above a lock. The flow of water then sucks the ash into the small gaps in the gates allowing them to form a watertight seal.

CRT volunteer engineers helping to design a sign that best showcases the Crofton Pumping station. Here is the making of the ‘N’ &’C’ in CroftoN. From my one dimensional drawings in CorelDraw. exported to a .dxf file, to Auto CAD, to a Kutavar CNC Plasma cutter at Bradley works.
