@supertanskiii Yeah, we're an ungovernable country at the moment. Can't build anything sensible with various groups of people at each others throats, and oftentimes goaded there by outright lying.
@HiraethPolitics@WillHayCardiff I seem to recall when the LibDems held the balance of power in 2010, the leader was essentially free to choose which party to go into coalition with to make up a majority government. A minority government with no allies to make up a majority can't pass any legislation - daft
@dan_routledge@FlynnRaffet Absolute revelation. Better ppg than Raequan (!!) The lad's playing himself into a much improved contract for next year I reckon - it's been wonderful to watch. Heart-on-sleeve kinda player too - what's not to love. Well played Flynn!
@dorfman_p How wonderful. Now, since we got into renewables partly on the promise that 'they're cheaper anyway' can we *please* have some of this for the consumers - before they all get bored, vote out Labour, and Fartage comes in and undoes it all ?
@britsdontjump Big loss for the Riders (i'm a fan and gutted) - but he's great for the neutrals to watch, so a loss for the league in general. Hopefully Cremona bought him out of his contract (like the Germans did with Geno) but I suspect he'll have gone for free... 😞
@PeterStefanovi2 It's been established in court that Fox is not a news channel (argued by Fox themselves). Strongly suspect GB 'news' will go the same way some time soon....
@WillKingston Can't say the hereditary peers thing bothers me in the slightest. Why should you be making rules for everyone based on who your dad is? Churchill has had his run on banknotes - no matter who you are, they change them out every so often to make em harder to forge
@kahntweets @signulll Yeah, that's kinda what I think. Locals will spend locally, most likely. Some private contractor miight have been cheaper overall, but that money would have vanished into deep pockets never to return. Put money in the hands of locals who'll spend it is Econ 101
@signulll Probably could have got it done more cheaply yes, but if the roads were bunged for ages it could well have cost more, and surely, most of the money earned will go straight back into local pockets when the shovelers treat themselves with their hard-earned cash
@JamesSm71937524@Heccles94 I'd be willing to bet she'll be on it once. She'll get big rounds of applause for just about everything she says, then not be allowed back.
@PeterStefanovi2 He can't be honest about why though can he? He's backed by people who lose money when offices are empty. He doesn't much believe in any of the rest of it, he just needs money flowing back to his sponsors.
@dan_routledge Whenever any kind of points difference comes into play in British basketball, there's always a bunch of players who make it clear the very concept is beneath them! 😀. Not a fan of the 'you got beat by a team from a different group who knew how much they could lose by' thing tbh
@MattHardyBBD Really bad that it's a local Derby game. Plenty of 89ers fans could easily make the trip. V bad look for the league I think, sorry London, gotta do better than this
@supertanskiii "Modernise trade unions" - I think we all know that means "Take away anything that makes it worth joining one". For "Working hard" read - no paid holidays or mat leave anymore, like they have in the US. Along with 'fire at will'. Reform will be rubbish for the working class
@doctor_oxford I mostly agree - but I do think expecting foreign folk to fill in the gaps on low-paid stuff is not the right way to run a country. We need to be unravelling a system that seems to require a never-ending influx of folk from wherever to do the work...
@DBW77@Jamssy3@WillHayCardiff I think there's a good few out there who equate England with UK. This looks like a manifestation of that. Maybe England could have a parliament too - help folks with the distinction...?
@Jamssy3@WillHayCardiff Prime minister of the UK - not England. Both names you quote were UK citizens with seats in the British parliament. If there was an English parliament a Celt was trying to lead... your point would stand.
