🚨 ATTN: DTC Marketing Operators — Scammers Are Targeting Your Brand on Meta
WSJ just dropped this:
👉 70% of new Meta advertisers = scams or shady offers
👉 Fake sites. Cloned brands. Stolen customer data
👉 Meta’s catching some — but not fast enough
Meta is still the platform for scale. But if you’re spending, you’re a target.
✅ Monitor brand knockoffs like it’s a KPI
✅ Educate customers on your verified checkmark, official URL, and real social handles
✅ Don’t assume Meta will catch it before your customers do
Important context: I’m not anti-Meta — like any brand owner with an 8 figure/year media spend, I LOVE Meta.
❌ Let’s fight these scammers like it’s the “but-does-come-from-China” dropshipper wars of 2018.
🔒 Protect your brand before someone else runs your ad budget and crushes your customers.
@TaylorHoliday I’ve said this for years. Makes no sense to exclude “purchasers.” Buyers should be excluding their engaged email/sms segments (30 day clickers). If they’re not engaging and you can’t reach them, why in the world would you not be willing to pay Meta to reach them!
@social_savannah I have the very best if you're looking for aggressive tax planning I assure you! My fiance and I are saving about $1.6 million thanks to him for 2020. DM and happy to connect 🙌
