Aprovechan su movilidad para atacar el 1c1 incluso en situaciones de cambios. En el último corte vemos como después de un contraataque fallido pide espacio.
I have a really hard time seeing Aday Mara being anything less than an impactful rotational big man in the NBA, and he is currently inside my personal top 10 at the moment & I'll very likely have a lottery grade on him no matter what.
Mara, standing at a listed 7'3 and a reported 7'7 wingspan, has been showing signs of increased defensive mobility & cognition which has made his projective defensive utility & impact become more apparent. Mara has a block% of 12.2%, a stl% of 1.2%, and leads the NCAA in DBPM at 8.0 — he is a presence on the basketball court and is a contributing factor as to why Michigan has the best defense in the league. Usually, bigs at that size struggle nabbing steals, which is a statistical indicator of mobility, but Aday has been grabbing them at the rate you would love to see.
Aday Mara brings more than just his defensive impact, he brings an offensive skillset which can be utilized *periodically* throughout games. One of the sell points for Mara is his passing. He thrives at hitting cutters & hitting his partnering forwards down low either from the middle of the floor or out of a roll. Mara is going to naturally bring a significant amount of gravity towards the rim as someone who is 7'3, so the passing becomes valuable once the opposing defense instinctively loads up the back line.
Mara has a turnover problem, but most of his turnovers come from him being in the post/low block. Ideally, with his limited creation and underwhelming shooting touch from >5ft, Mara shouldn't be used that way once he hits the league.
At the end of the day, with his efficiency at the rim (nearly 80%), his passing volume (18% AST%) & defensive numbers, and with his size, I think Mara is a safe bet for any NBA team looking for a rotational big man.
Los buenos entrenadores/as casi siempre crean descontentos.
¿Por qué?
Porque están únicamente del lado de la gente que comparten compromiso, actitud y ambición con ellos.
O estás en el barco o no lo estás.
