@King0fATL@SchwellenSzn They hired Hyers to get away from that approach, realized the players didn't fit the new approach, and went back to the old Seitzer method of swing as hard as you can and hope you run into something.
@CapitolAvenue Hiring Hyers and signing Profar told me they tried to change their approach after the dead ball season of 2024 but the players they have signed long term are mashers. At some point this year, they went back to the swing for the fence approach and decided to live with the results.
@Jasonshelton77@mlbbowman The Braves offense has been horrible in the postseason every year since they won the World Series. Total runs in the NLDS since then, with games played in parentheses:
2022: 13 (4)
2023: 8 (4)
2026: 7 (3)
29 runs in 11 games is not going to cut it.
@LawsonsCreek@RealMattBarbee@Reduck23@b_outliers No, but there are penalties for going over certain luxury tax thresholds, and like it or not, every team (besides the Dodgers and their shady insurance money) does have a budget.
@LawsonsCreek@RealMattBarbee@Reduck23@b_outliers All contracts are fully guaranteed in baseball, so even if they cut guys, they still have to pay them and count it against their luxury tax number.
