El General de División de Estado Mayor Héctor Ávila Alcocer, Comandante del Ejército Mexicano, sostuvo una reunión de trabajo con el Secretario Patrick Driscoll en el marco de los mecanismos de cooperación bilateral militar establecidos desde el 2016, que contemplan encuentros periódicos para fortalecer el diálogo, la coordinación y el intercambio de experiencias entre ambas instituciones.

Como parte de la agenda de trabajo, el Comandante del Ejército Mexicano y el Secretario del Ejército de los E.U.A., suscribieron una “Declaración de Intención” no vinculante, que permitirá a esta Secretaría acceder al mercado digital para la adquisición de Sistemas Aéreos No Tripulados (UAS) y Contra Sistemas Aéreos No Tripulados (C-UAS).

Con estas acciones la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional, a través de la Comandancia del Ejército Mexicano, fortalece sus capacidades estratégicas y operativas para el cumplimiento de sus misiones generales y refrenda su compromiso de mantener una cooperación bilateral militar basada en el respeto irrestricto a la soberanía e integridad territorial, responsabilidad compartida, confianza mutua y colaboración sin subordinación.
