@jkenney Scientists from Stanford Energy Modelling Forum have found that carbon taxes substantially reduce emissions and generate long-term economic growth. Being short-sighted isn't the solution. #cdnpoli https://t.co/nqcRcSnaum #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@retirewcashflow@YouTube Since the 1950s, many of the observed climate changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, snow and ice have diminished, sea level has risen. {1.1} https://t.co/no38Zefbl5 #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@manny_ottawa@cathmckenna Go Fact Yourself: Weather is NOT climate. 🙄 Climate models predict climate, which is weather AVERAGES, not daily or hourly weather conditions. @cathmckenna knows that. https://t.co/pjtybJHjg2 #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qld5u9G
@AndrewScheer Nobel Prize-winning economists say carbon taxes are the solution to climate change. You might not know much about the economy or the climate but I'm sure you know about the Nobel prize. #cdnpoli https://t.co/eH6poe6DDQ #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@StefanMolyneux This I have learned: philosophy show hosts aren't scientists and science says that warmer temps are already increasing vector-borne and contagious diseases, including Lyme, Ebola, malaria...https://t.co/4ppJ2DO2J4 #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@retirewcashflow Thx for the first opinion but I’ll stick with the scientists. According to NASA Earth’s global surface temperature in 2018 was the fourth warmest since modern recordkeeping began in 1880.https://t.co/iK2yrvxeh5 #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@Paola_Dec1231 FYI: a Carbon Tax with multiple instruments, including tech mandates and targeted support for innovation, is key to avoid path dependencies and lock-in of long-lived, high-carbon assets. #cdnpoli https://t.co/AuBDbRnEv3 #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@MaximeBernier Environment and Climate Change Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Natural Resources Canada, and university experts agree that Canada is warming about twice as fast as the global average. https://t.co/2JlkPs4bbR #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@Franktmcveety@john0sullivanp2 Your source doesn’t seem reliable, let me help you:
Records from 800,000 years to the present show a strong correlation between CO2 levels and temperature.

@MaximeBernier “I don’t believe that the main reason is human activity.” (5:40)
Human-generated CO2 throws the natural carbon cycle out of balance. We now have surpassed an unprecedented 400 ppm of CO2.

@mogrant61 No sheep here, just informed citizens. Many aspects of climate change will last for centuries, even if humans emissions of GHG are stopped. Risks of irreversible changes rise as the warming rise. (2.4) https://t.co/no38Zefbl5 #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@FriendsOScience@GlobalEdmonton Scientists, really? Signatories in totally unrelated academic fields outnumbered climate scientists by 2 to 1. https://t.co/H9yUGmvCf9 Oh, and here's a fact from a real scientist: #cndpoli https://t.co/h4THt2ZlQ2 #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@MaximeBernier Go Fact Yourself: The @nytimes proved that this is a stunt by a pro-Trump fringe group https://t.co/gQI7UMHGGo. Oh, and 97% or more scientists agree that climate change is real. #cdnpoli https://t.co/4ccyib7qYn #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
@jeoff6 Thx for the follow-up. As I said, I think the case of CT, the devil is in the details. However, though, it doesn't change the fact that, with all the scientific reports that prove the efficiency of a CT, my point of view is that a well planned CT is still an efficient solution.
@jeoff6 Don’t be a bad sport. There’s many details(and facts) you miss, but If getting into insults is your way to go, I’ll let you play alone. Have a great day pal.
@jeoff6@nspector4 The dir. of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (who's against taxes) VS world's scientists who agree that a Carbon Tax with multiple uses is key to avoid path dependencies and lock-in of long-lived, high-carbon assets...You paper, me scissors. #factback https://t.co/AuBDbRnEv3
@jeoff6@nspector4 Thanks for sharing, BUT I'll stay with the 3554 economists, including 27 Nobel Laurates, who agree that a carbon tax is the most cost-effective way to reduce carbon emissions than going for a Twitter guy posting a picture with no source. https://t.co/EWRb26P0jI #factback
@nspector4 Sorry to break it to you, but putting a price on carbon is proven to be effective. From 2007 and 2016, BC's real GDP grew by 19%, while net emissions declined by 3.7%. #cdnpoli https://t.co/NAkH3oNGXW #FactBack@protectwintersc https://t.co/896qlcNTi8
