Canada is suddenly excited about a deeper affiliation with the EU. Fine, Europe is a real market and diversification sounds reasonable, but look at where Canadian goods exports actually go:

🇺🇸 United States: 71.6%
🇪🇺 European Union: 5.5%

That is one customer buying seven of every ten Canadian goods and another buying one in twenty.

You can sign communiqués with Brussels all year, but you still sell energy, cars, lumber, and food across a land border that already works… until it doesn’t. The highest-return move is not a new European romance, it is fixing, hardening, and de-risking the relationship with the US that already pays the bills.

Elle décrit son parcours en trois étapes :

1️⃣ Déconstruire votre identité : vous apprendre que vos origines et vos privilèges vous empêchent de faire confiance à votre propre jugement.

2️⃣ Expier vos péchés : promouvoir l’idéologie du groupe pour prouver que vous êtes du « bon côté ». Pour Biggers, le journalisme climatique est devenu ce moyen d’expiation.

3️⃣ Se soumettre entièrement : celui qui doute ou pose des questions n’exprime plus simplement un désaccord. Il devient un « oppresseur » à exclure du groupe.
