@RichardDawkins My favourite example is "fulsome", which has wavered between meaning "abundant" and "morally offensive" over the years. Also of interest are contronyms, words with two opposite meanings, such as "cleave" (cling to/split apart) and "sanction" (give approval/impose a penalty).
