@Obionecoinobi @VitalikButerin Airdrops and ballot vote? really? It sounds like ethereum network is being attacked. The network is being flooded with thousands of transaction of small value with extremely low gas price ie. 1 or smaller than 1 gwei. Whoever is doing this is spending a lot of money.
@stoogemasta @ethereumreport I thought so too. I noticed thousand of transactions of very small value with extremely small gas price. Whoever is doing it is spending a lot of money to cripple ethereum network. Thanks for replying
@CryptoCoinsNews If you drop your wallet on the street and loose all your money, can you ask everybody on the street to compensate for your loss? If parity included codes that allow anyone to terminate blocks, why are they seeking sympathy from the entire ethereum network?
@dannyryan The incentive to store and share it must be profitable enough or otherwise no one will do so. I am a miner. The ledger is kept in the GPU's memory. GPU's memory is scarce. In POS scheme, I believe the stakers must run their wallet on their computers.
@VladZamfir@Ethernian I am a miner. With current block reward, falling Eth prices, and rising hashing difficulty, it has been a tough challenge for miners to stay profitable. EIP 1011 would pose major difficulty for ethereum to handle growing transactions.
@Ethernian@VladZamfir Stronger user base means more transactions. More transactions means more storage needed to store the public ledger, It explicitly means eth needs more miners or validators. With EIP 1011 that reduces the block reward, it discourages mining/validating participation.
@VitalikButerin@glenweyl Blockchain/DLT technology is just P2P, encryption and RDBMS combined as one component n hosted on the internet. So far it is for the nerds and enthusiasts. Till someone simplifies the entire process, mass adoption is a long shot and the current price appreciation is just a bubble
@direlog Even if iyou can live for a trillion years, would u want to last that long in this frail body? Would you be happy to see the passing of your love ones because time is not the only factor determining our life duration? dangers around us can end the super human, unless you are God
@jeffehh Everybody talks about blockchain technology minus decentralisation where mining is needed. If blockchain technology is operated without decentralisation, ie without authentication process involved in mining, will it not just be a RDBMS running on centralised servers?
@VladZamfir @kate_sills @ZoeJDolan Trust me that regulation from the big brother is very effective. You dont want to be tagged as enemy of the state :D Btw we are programmed to follow norms and values which are forms of regulation too.
@ZoeJDolan Well that sounds like where the new direction of net neutrality will take us. Sooner or later the crypto industry must raise money to buy up the internet infrastructure companies to ensure free and no discrimination access to the internet
@ErikVoorhees Well facebook is owned by US gov through CIA. I read it from one of the article from CHIP magazine. Facebook is a honey trap. Everybody voluntarily hands over their personal data for the sake of narcissism and recognition in the new frontier because in real life they re no one.
@VladZamfir What do you think about adding side chain to run on CPU to confirm that miners are mining from GPUs attached to normal pc running on Intel or AMD processor. Additional side chain can be used to store extra data. That helps to solve some scalability issues too.
@VladZamfir That might help to address scalability issues as well as prevent ASIC from mining eth. As for the technical details, I believe that the Ethereum developer community knows how to do it :)
@VladZamfir Well GPU is good at handling uniform type of data right? Perhaps to prevent ASIC, you can add algorithm as a side chain to run on CPU to confirm that miners are mining from GPUs attached to CPU from Intel or AMD. The side chain can be used to store additional data.
@random_walker@VladZamfir Is it really possible to store big volume data like movies into the scarce blockchain storage? Currently bitcoin blockchain has limited applications, unlike ethereum blockchain.
@VitalikButerin will ethereum allow asic miners soon like monero, sia and decred? How can we tell if anyone in the ethereum network has not been using ethereum asic? bitmain has been secretly mining monero using their secret new monero asic.
@VitalikButerin In real life, network quality affects processing capacity. In my opinion, in order to increase the tx number that ethereum's main net can do is to reduce the amount of replication of the public record within the ethereum network without compromising record integrity.
