Establishment Dems need to stop talking about the impeachments. Totally unsuccessful at stated goals
Especially the first one was a disaster that increased Trump's approval by a few points, forced swing seat Dems to take a tough vote (or switch parties) and devalued the second
Well there is the confirmation. We could have had the owner of a brewery who was super into environmental causes and wanted to run a solid left center affordability and save Medicaid campaign, but Chuck Schumer decided an 80-year-old gov with middling popularity was better.
@TylerDinucci Both of these are show less movement from 24 Prez than national. Is your implication that because they are whiter states an 8 pt shift is in fact noticeable given that the national shift is reliant on larger Hispanic reversion.
After lots of warnings, I still see folks jumping the gun on conclusions re: California. There are massive amounts of Dem ballots left out there. Steyer and Raman are still very much in it.
@DKThomp This isn't even to say that I disagree with the direction of a lot of these critiques but the bias towards only focusing on negative elements and trends is noticeable.
@DKThomp Yes and this phenomenon goes beyond sport. I am a huge fan of Survivor and their's a real negativity bias in the online fan community right now (both the real fans and the bandwagon haters). For televised competition, something in the online pundit ecosystems has soured.
@jamestalarico: “I owe everything to this industry (oil and gas)”
“The idea that politicians in Washington think they can eliminate this industry is something we had to fight against, something we have to fight against in our own party.”
“I’m a big fan of the renewables, but It’s gonna take an all of the above approach.”
“Texas has always been an energy leader, and I want to keep it that way”
@politico Most of all, thank you to the New Deal team—the people behind the scenes who make magic happen every day. Your talent, grit, and heart are everything.
Remains amazing to me that Las Vegas is never a serious contender for the convention. Tons of union hotels all right next to each other, the logistics would be amazing, and it's a swing state.
I live in NYC with no car and my sister has lived in Boston and now Denver with no car. It’s fine there but the difference is you can legitimately go months in NYC without ever getting in a car whereas she pays for lots of Ubers.
On the Harry Potter subject, are there any examples of effective, large-scale boycotts in the last 20 years of US politics? Let alone if there any examples of effective *global* boycotts?
NEW: In their frantic efforts to win back power, Democrats are warning up to something more... primal: Why not just run hotter candidates?
These convos are really happening. And there is real science behind it.

I’m excited to have joined @AaronDFordNV’s campaign for Governor of Nevada as press secretary!
Ford is a proven fighter for working families who’s been in the shoes of struggling Nevadans. He’ll bring costs down and push back against Trump.
Reporters, let’s talk #NVGov 📩
Democrats have an incredible opportunity in '26 and '28 to reverse the last decade of losses with Hispanic voters.
If Democrats can focus on affordability & giving people healthcare and avoid unpopular positions on crime/immigration/guns, no reason we can't see big swings back
