@DailyTaxMemes How come nobody is taking about populating the K2/K3? 95% of the domestic returns I’m preparing don’t qualify for the exemption. And I am not convinced the software can autopopulate the forms in many cases.
@LoganGrafTax A truly intelligent 9 year old would outsource her work to a brilliant 8 year old overseas for $1,500 a year and spend the rest on Taylor Swift tickets.
@WTFoote That building value is rough, and as is probably makes the cost seg not worth it. Can you find the sales price of vacant lots in the area with similar zoning? If land is selling for cheap you might have a case to support a better allocation.
@LoganGrafTax Alternative approach- will complete your return in 3+ weeks of all documents received/EL signed. Fee increase 20% (?) if client wants the return prepared within 1-2 weeks. No option for turnaround <1 week.
@JStaatsCPA I’m struggling with this question. The source of conflict isn’t over how a potential client will respond. It’s about me being confident of my own pricing.
@TheDullCPA The client shouldn’t balk to pay you the same fee for the same work. Problem is the client paid the attorney for a refund. Easy sell. How much are they willing to pay you so they avoid committing tax fraud?
All of my GOP friends who are worried about 87,000 IRS enforcement agents coming after the little guy... How about just don't cheat on tax returns? A fully truthful and accurate tax return is bulletproof in an audit. I never understood the fear of an IRS audit. Don't lie. Period.
