Lots of interest in our Dying Matters stall at Harefield Hospital supported by the Palliative Care team. Inviting people to talk about the elephant in the room by writing down words they fear using or hearing about death and dying. Well done team HH.
Paying my respects to my great grandfather who died 107 years ago on the first day of the battle of the Somme I came across this memorial to nurses who served in the Great War
Exciting update!
Dr Armita Jamali and CNS Lynn Shedden will now be speaking at our next webinar too!
These two projects go hand in hand and show how we can learn so much from others, to make change where we work.

Our stall to mark Dying Matters week is in main reception at the Royal Brompton Hospital today. This years theme is bereavement at work, helping us to think how we care for ourselves and colleagues when suffering a bereavement
What an emotional couple of days it has been. Thank you to those colleagues who came by and showed their support, thank you to those who cared for patients and enabled others to strike….. united we must stand! 👏🏻 @patcullen9@RCNLondon@theRCN@RBandH@GSTTnhs
A life-saving heart transplant allowed @RBandH patient Andy to spend Christmas at home with his family. 💙
In 2023, he and his wife Jenny will be renewing their wedding vows in Harefield, led by one of the hospital’s chaplains. 💒 https://t.co/ea5jiQ9eoD

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing, following a brief illness, of Terry, our beautiful friend, brother and one of the most brilliant singers, songwriters and lyricists this country has ever produced. (1/4)
A one-off 1% wealth tax on households with more than £1 million could fund the nurses’ demand for a fair pay rise 162 times over.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you we can’t afford to pay workers what they need and deserve.
Solidarity with members from @theRCN on strike today.
