@JamieGrierson I wanted to point out that this article confuses sound levels in water and in air. Headline is not true. The paper is nonetheless, very cool.

Giving Thanks - https://t.co/F0k6gi8Alb Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and thank those who contributed to your happiness and success. As Loggerhead approaches its 20th anniversary, we are grateful for our customers' research and for including us in their work.
We talked with Ben Montgomery (Axios Tampa Bay) who has new bird friends thanks to his #Haikubox: "A barred owl and common nighthawk visited after dark... Palm warblers and rose-breasted grosbeaks pass through." Read his story: https://t.co/5SQa0BwlBe
So cool. I just walked outside to test a new neural net and a screech owl started calling from the oak tree in our backyard. Just detected a Eastern Screech-Owl with my Haikubox https://t.co/ZCxxQZTJYZ via @HaikuboxNature
I got a Haiku Box, and it's terrific.
This morning the box “heard” a veery. I was skeptical. There are no September veery sightings for Vinalhaven on ebird. I’ve *never* seen one here. But sure enough, I found my first in a spruce tree an hour later.
Thanks @HaikuboxNature!
With shorter and cooler days, your birds may be feeling a little Zugunruhe (migratory restlessness), a term used by German scientists trying to better understand bird migration. See & hear birds recently identified by Haikuboxes around N America at https://t.co/Ul88LDZwXF
I want to tell you about a really cool backyard birding tool I’ve been using called Haikubox.
Sound ID tech is revolutionizing birding, and Haikubox continually listens and IDs the birds outside your home. It’s awesome. @HaikuboxNature
