I read the 33 1/3 book; I gifted it to my dad. I saw them perform in 2013 when @eblarden dragged me out and I’m so thankful he did. Verlaine’s poetry and bright guitar will echo long in these streets. RIP
I’d never heard of Television until I moved to the city in 2008 when I was 22. Marquee Moon was quickly consumed. I’m sure I’m one in a million to say it is a soundtrack of New York for me; in it every subway ride is a tragedy and every street corner is animated with possibility
For whatever reason I’ve always described Beck’s New Pollution as being “in my top 40 favorite songs”. I’ve never tried to get more specific, and I don’t think I’ve ever described any other song the same way nor otherwise even suggested the existence of a top 40
