Shape matters! And we can change either segregation behavior or level just adding particles of different shape! Special thanks to @rachelglade who was the greatest mentor at UofR!
I am happy to share a fresh out of the oven preprint where we are connecting some granular mechanics to the fabrication and performance of solid state batteries! Check it out! https://t.co/pV7jYo5htr
I am excited to share that my research work at the University of Campinas has been published in Scientific Reports/Nature.
If you are intrigued in barchan dunes, AI and remote sensing in different environments like Mars, this is a must-read for you.

I’m really glad to share a preprint that just went out from my masters at @unicamp. Here we detect and track barchan dunes, in experiments and from satellite images, by using Artificial Intelligence. Check it out! https://t.co/49khNjlgWQ
Why do Brazil nuts always float to the top, and what does that have to do with landslides?
New research in Earth and environmental sciences is reshaping our understanding of granular systems in both industry and nature

Go work with @rachelglade! It will be a great opportunity to expand your knowledge in a multidisciplinary research group! Plus, Rachel is an amazing PI!
The Drip Lab has a preprint out 🚨 on shape- & size-induced granular segregation and its implications in industrial and geophysical flows! We found that mixtures with non-spherical shapes experience lower levels of segregation due to granular interactions.

A paper with @DavidCunez and Erick Franklin published in @AIP_Publishing
PoF back in 2021 was highlighted in #scilight https://t.co/ygTCppOzNH… Now this highlight is one of the most-read articles from 2022 that were chosen by the journal editors.
Yay! Our work about how riverbeds are harden or soften and their direction-dependence is finally out in Physical Review Research! Many thanks to @dougsjunkdrawer who was a great mentor while I was at @PENN_EES and also to the other co-authors!

Check our new results out on the interaction of barchan dunes composed by bidispersed grains that was just published on JGR Earth Surface. This work was in collaboration with @willian75877454 and my former advisor at @unicampoficial! @JGREarthSurface@theAGU@PesquisaFapesp
New experiments with two sizes of sand grains reveal barchan dune collisions and suggest timescales for barchan interactions that can help predict the evolution of #dune fields on Earth, Mars, and other planets. In #AGUpubs: https://t.co/KDmXMSjfWX
Sad that Spring School has come to an end - it was a great week of coding, modeling, and collaboration. Luckily, the fun isn't over yet with @CSDMS Annual Meeting starting today!
compelling @CSDMS presentation today by @ampfeiff demonstrating the power of incorporating direct #field observations into numerical #modeling!

After some attempts to try to figure out the best way to reproduce shape segregation in granular media. We finally got new superquadric DEM simulations involving real shapes of spheres and cubes! @RachelGlade
