Bcz there was no Ready made opener available in bgt 21 after famous 36 allout and Shaw failed there. Since he averaged 50 in debut as opener they gave him long rope in that position+ there was no place in mo to fit him.

And he got chance in that series as opener bcz shaw failed . Since he got 50 & 45 at opening they shifted Agarwal who failed as opener in that series to middle order when rohit returned.

And rahane mostly batter at 5 and pujara was always top order batter till retirement. They hardly played out of position and whenever they played they mostly failed
