Buck v. Bell has been "good law" for 94 years, 8 months, 9 days. Would somebody please explain to me like I'm 5 how the Supreme Court can both:
- Not have struck it down explicitly at any point since, and
- Still have the tiniest scrap of legitimacy?
@supersat@thecydneyhayes@WIRED Who's gonna enforce that law and how? Think it through for half a minute.
The idea that we should delegate our safety to attorneys has been comprehensively debunked, and was never on firm evidentiary grounds in the first place.
@Chinchillazllla His point of view is very consistent with the formation that puts him in charge of stuff, so there's also a bigger problem. That formation literally raises people from birth to be like him.
@RileyScout1520@jonperry501@CalltoActivism I defy you to find any evidence that I have ever supported a Republican on any matter.
Well, apart from the part where I voted for McCain against Bush in California's open primary, but I was young and naïf in imagining that would be a way to poke Bush in the eye.
@ElieNYC@thenation Omitted from the parts of this no-doubt trenchant analysis that weren't behind the paywall were the questions of the per se legitimacy of policing and of carcerality. Did you touch on them in the parts people must pay to see?
@playerodePR@CalltoActivism I see that reading comprehension is not your strong suit. Read the part where I named Trump as a war criminal. I know it's difficult, but I have confidence that you can do it.
@tspikes616@CalltoActivism Two propaganda techniques you used here are pearl clutching and the closely related respectability politics. 2/10. Would not recommend.
Oh, and framing anyone who doesn't rim a war criminal who happens to be Black as a some kind of red hat-wearing bigot is probably not the move.
@RileyScout1520@jonperry501@CalltoActivism So the fact that I currently live in an exurb of Sacramento is somehow pertinent.
The part where I named the current President as a war criminal, a thing the "stuck in the past" crowd would never do, has eluded you, as many obvious things do.
Shitlib.
@jonperry501@CalltoActivism What little I care about when it comes to what this war criminal said was restricted to his cowardice in refusing to name the guy he was criticizing. That's what we call a "sin of omission," and you seem strangely obsessed with denying that such a thing could exist.
@jonperry501@CalltoActivism I don't give a fuck what he has to say about literally anything, and I made quite clear what motivates that. What part of that are you missing?
@JackCity08401@CalltoActivism I might be delighted to after you explain what an "of honor" is and how a father might possess it.
Defending war criminals is not gonna hit no matter who you are or what you do.
@jonperry501@CalltoActivism I pointed out parts he left out, and made it quite clear what I thought was wrong with them.
I do not give a flying fuck what that war criminal, or any war criminal, has to say about anything, least of all what they say to dunk on their (former) rivals for power.
@MatthewJDalby It's not some kind of oopsie or accident. MAiD was explicitly a cost-cutting measure out of the gate, and the eugenicist "useless eater" overtones of that were then, and continue to be, extremely loud.
