I've been programming for 15+ years.
Today I'm a Senior Software Engineer.
If I had to start again from 0, here's exactly what I'd do:
• Read books.
• Practice on Leetcode.
• Work on my self-esteem.
Great developers are in high demand, believe in yourself.

If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal.
If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.
If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.
If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.

Paul Graham on how to make yourself a big target for luck:
“When you read biographies of people who've done great work, it's remarkable how much luck is involved.
They discover what to work on as a result of a chance meeting, or by reading a book they happen to pick up.
So you need to make yourself a big target for luck, and the way to do that is to be curious.
Try lots of things, meet lots of people, read lots of books, ask lots of questions.”
maturity is realizing that most books can be judged by their covers because the cover was in fact deliberately selected to be representative of the book and often even contains a description of its contents
I love how small the world becomes thanks to the Internet:
I woke up today and read this mention on Medium, a science teacher from Alaska wrote an article inspired by one of my articles:
This is a developing story and we must not jump to conclusions on Ilya, Sam, or what Microsoft is doing.
Save this thread as I'm going to update it as the news develops.
· Kara Swisher, a Silicon Valley reporter obtains internal information:
Sources tell me that the profit direction of the company under Altman and the speed of development, which could be seen as too risky, and the nonprofit side dedicated to more safety and caution were at odds.
