@SewallCards Some great points made in this video. My challenge with this era of auto/relic cards is that many of the designs are really not appealing. Small images of the players, sticker autos, etc. The point that there is value here is true but many of these cards look terrible to me.
@nut_history I think it got a tad out of hand. EVERYONE in town pounced on the viral moment. The added attention probably made it hard to just go on normal dates. π€·π»ββοΈ
@bowlanz@CardPurchaser THEORY:
Having to print unique backs for every parallel would be a large added expense for the manufacturer. 50 unique backs for gold, 99 unique backs for green, etc. Currently, ALL backs are the same so that makes the manufacturing process much easier. Just a theory.
@roselleavenue A+ take. The public has placed sports on such a tall pedastal, we just continue to spend more YoY on things like: tickets, concessions, jerseys & TV access of our team. At some point, the spending hits a tipping point. Indicators: PHX Coyotes stadium woes & Aβs to Vegas.
@natsturner@CardPurchaser I own this card in-hand and the cert shows up as non-existent. Pretty cool oddball Fielder rookie year fard. Would love for this one to show up correctly in the PSA database. CHEERS!!! ππ»
@itzAkustom@natsturner@CardPurchaser Found this on Ebay. Looks like they were meant for this Blue Jay stickerbook. Canβt imagine they printed a ton of this. Gotta be a pretty low print run.
@itzAkustom@natsturner@CardPurchaser Yeah, a pretty cool oddball RC of Cecil Fielder. Not sure why the cert is wonky. No way people are faking Cecil Fielder RCs right? π
@BaseCardsRule Love the Kimbrel Topps Career run.
So strange his RC has no RC designation & is part od the ASG subset. π
And do you know why did he get 2 regular issue 2012 cards? #20 & #87. Curious to figure that outβ¦
@genxroast@CardPurchaser Yeah, youβre thinking on this is most likely correct. The corner wear may not be visable to the naked eye, but plastic pressure on the paper corner of even a standard thickness card can be very possible. And on thicker pt. cards, ugh!!! I only use pennysleeves + toploaders.
@collectorsloan@Heystackcards It wasnβt nearly as efficient as your process but I thought this card would be unsellable. Until this weekβ¦ Sold in 2-days for 2x what I paid when he was with the Suns. π
