Tories Bad Enoch: "SCRAPPING THE RWANDA PLAN WILL LEAD TO EVEN MORE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND SMALL BOAT CROSSINGS !!!"
Labour : Scraps Rwanda Plan. Works WITH French allies instead of insulting them. Puts the right resources in the right places.
Small boat crossings DOWN 41%.
On Thursday night I looked out of my boat & knew immediately that something was wrong on the River Roding. The moon was glimmering off the water in a strange way I hadn’t seen before. I went outside to discover an oil slick streaked across the river & the smell of engine oil in the air.
Here’s what I did about it & what it says about regulatory failure & the role of river guardians 🧵
Jeff Bezos never wanted this cartoon to become public.
He killed it, and as a result, pulitzer prize editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit.
Make sure everyone sees this cartoon.
In a bizarre move, Severn Trent water have come up with an innovative solution to reduce sewage in one river by sending it down another so now the other river has even more sewage. A bit like buying carbon credits, it used to be called "brushing it under the carpet."
Trouble is, you can brush it away but the stink is still there.
I am very pleased to see @FishLegal_ on the case
because they will take this fight. Fish legal is a small, tight team who are laser focused on punishing polluters using our legal system. I have worked with a few charities/organisations in my time as a professional angler and @FishLegal_ are the best.
Without them, I doubt the news about this would spread much beyond Shropshire. With them, there is hope.
Find out more, give them a follow. Better still, give them a follow and a donation!

This is a video of the Wynnstay Hunt, the Carden Park Hotel held a fundraiser for them in November.
@cardenpark, is this the kind of people you want to be associated with??
When I had a mobile phone snatched by a biker, I gave the police precise GPS details of its two UK locations, including Google maps pictures of front doors. The police refused to go to the addresses or investigate.
This was maddening. The officers said they were not allowed to act on GPS locational data - and also that there are so many street crimes that they can’t cope. But they did want to visit me to take a pointless statement and offer me victim support, when what I actually wanted was my phone back. It is now in Algeria.
The police are significantly under-resourced but there is also an issue about how the existing resources are being deployed.
The Home Secretary says she will give the police the power to act on location data. But it is unclear when this will happen, and why the police can’t even now simply go to a property and knock on a door as a warning to the thieves that they are being watched. And as for the failure to use cctv images, don’t get me started.
Of course thefts and crimes such as the one I experienced are trivial compared to many that go unsolved. Which is why what is reported below will resonate widely.
PS I am not being funny but I thought the most counter-intuitive aspect of the Louise Haigh case is that a decade ago the police took an interest in where her phone might be
“My name is Amos Goldberg. I am an Israeli Professor of Holocaust Studies. For nearly 30 years I have researched and taught the Holocaust, genocide and state violence.
And I want to tell whoever is willing to listen that what’s happening now in Gaza is a genocide.
A year ago when October 7th happened, like all Israelis I was in shock. It was a war crime and a crime against humanity. 1200 people - more than 800 of them civilians - were killed in one day. Children and the elderly were among those taken hostage. Communities were destroyed. It was outrageous, traumatizing, personal. Like most Israelis, I know people who were killed, who lost loved ones or whose loved ones were taken hostage.
But immediately afterwards came Israel’s response and within weeks thousands of civilians were killed in Gaza. It took me some time to digest what was unfolding before my eyes. It was agonizing to confront that reality. I was reluctant to call it a genocide.
But if you read Raphael Lemkin – the Jewish-Polish legal scholar who coined the term ‘genocide’ and was the major driving force behind the 1948 United Nations Genocide Convention – what is happening in Gaza now is exactly what he had in mind when he spoke about genocide.
It does not need to look like the Holocaust to be a genocide. Each genocide looks different and not all involve killing of millions or the entire group. The United Nations Genocide Convention explicitly asserts that genocide is the act of deliberately destroying a group in whole or in part. Those are the words.
But there does need to be a clear intent.
And indeed, there are clear indications of intent to destroy Gaza: Israel’s leaders - including the prime minister and the minister of defence - and many high-ranking military officers, media personalities, rabbis, as well as ordinary soldiers were very open about what they wanted to achieve. There were countless documented incitements to turn the whole of Gaza into rubble and claims that there are no innocent people living there.
A radical atmosphere of dehumanization of the Palestinians prevails in Israeli society to an extent that I can’t remember in my 58 years of living here.
Now that vision has been enacted. Tens of thousands of innocent children, women and men have been killed. Over a hundred thousand were wounded. There is a near total destruction of infrastructure, intentional starvation and blocking of humanitarian aid. There are mass graves and reliable testimony of summary executions. Children that were shot by snipers. All the universities and almost all hospitals are gone. Almost all the population is displaced. There have been numerous bombings of civilians in so-called ‘safe zones’. Gaza does not exist anymore. It is completely destroyed. Thus, the outcome fits perfectly with the stated intentions of Israel’s leadership.
Lemkin - that scholar who coined the term ‘genocide’ - described two phases of a genocide. The first is the destruction of the annihilated group and the second is what he called ‘imposition of the national pattern’ of the perpetrator. We are now witnessing the second phase as Israel prepares ethnically cleansed areas for Israeli settlements.
And therefore, I have come to the conclusion that this is exactly what a genocide looks like. We don’t teach about genocides in order to realize it retrospectively. We teach about it in order to prevent it and to stop it.
But like in every other case of genocide in history right now we have mass denial. Both here in Israel and around the world.
But reality cannot be denied.
So yes, it is a genocide.
And once you come to this conclusion you cannot remain silent.”

BREAKING: MAGA world gets disastrous news as a former Colorado county clerk is found guilty on seven charges including four felonies tied to her pro-Trump voting machine tampering in the 2020 election
The Big Lie has been brutally exposed...
According to the victorious prosecutors, Tina Peters, who was once a Mesa County Clark, gave an official ID badge belonging to another county official to a hack investigator associated with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.
Lindell has been one of the most deranged proponents of the conspiracy theory that the election was stolen by Joe Biden.
Peters was convicted of three counts of attempting to influence a public servant, one count of conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, first-degree official misconduct, violation of duty, and failing to comply with the secretary of state.
"Tina Peters willfully compromised her own election equipment trying to prove Trump's Big Lie," said Colorado Secretary of State. "Today's verdict sends a clear message: we will not tolerate any effort to threaten the security of our gold standard elections."
Prosecutors stated that Peters engaged in "a deceptive scheme which was designed to influence public servants, breach security protocols, exceed permissible access to voting equipment and set in motion the eventual distribution of confidential information to unauthorized people."
Peters was indicted for her participation in the illegal plotting in March 2022. She has exploited her infamy to become a popular figure at right-wing events hosted by Lindell. Clearly, she regrets nothing.
She is scheduled to be sentenced on October 3rd and could face prison time.

Unfortunately, this stag was probably killed today.
The hunt picked him up very early, close to the meet. He was then hemmed into a valley by riders on point and chased with hounds for over 2 hrs. Full report later.
Just to put things into perspective:
It took Russians almost a year and between 70,000 and 100,000 WIA / KIA in casualties to take 390 square kilometers (150 square miles) in the Avdiivka sector. They hailed this as a "genius" move.
Ukrainians took in 5 days more than 470 square kilometers (180 square miles) in Kursk, with no significant losses, according Russian claims even up to 700 square kilometers, and there is no sign of them stopping.
