If a company wants to accept any crypto, having an operating system meant to process those payments as opposed to a legacy system with apps built on top would be beneficial. Overledger integrates the XRPL too, it can be used on top of it

What separates it from those you mentioned is that those are just blockchains, while this is a computer operating system with numerous blockchains built in. Think Windows/mac

So you’re correct that to buy it now you’ll likely need to pay either exchange fees (Bitrue) or gas fees (Uniswap). If you move it to an ethereum wallet or ledger you’ll also have gas fee
