@racetofifty@TheDetroitLine Different sport but a lot of people were making similar comments about Matthew Stafford. Football and hockey are both team sports.
@EatEmUpPod@hostedbyjhall@aurban91 Not Tigers but Larkin makes me think of Matthew Stafford situation. Regarding Tigers I know people are down on Zack Short because of his bat but this team looks better defensively with Torres back & Short allowing McGonigle to play third. He’s our only competent defender there.
@blessyouboys For all the infield defense problems this team has had lately, I appreciate how he makes the routine plays. He’s not flashy but just plays the game the right way.
@american19@JomboyMedia It often happens in a situation like that. The runner advances because no one is trying to hold him or cover the base. Defenders are focused on being ready to defend a batted ball. The runner doesn’t get credit for stolen bases as it is considered “defensive indifference”.
@J_Wade6@beckjason@MLBNetworkRadio Zack Short has a higher WAR right now than seven Tigers position players, most of whom are playing regularly. He can at least play SS functionally and draw an occasional walk (.385 OBP his last five games). He’s not a front line player but he’s not the problem with this team.
I legitimately think AJ is an excellent manager and most of the complaints are nonsense.
But put him in my shoes... if a team lost the first 2 games of a weekend series and your starter is shoving... you pitch him til he's done
INCREDIBLE. I know a lot don't pay close attention, but EMU's women's golf team just upset Texas to advance to the National semi finals in California. The Eagles ranked outside #200 before the year started. Jasmine Leovao sinks the winning putt from about 12-feet
@EatEmUpPod@hostedbyjhall@aurban91 Regarding the offense I don’t have empirical data, but wondering if teams throw more offspeed pitches to Tigers than to other teams. Seem to have too many hitters who struggle to adjust. Thinking about that last at bat in the ninth today with the potential winning run at third.
Dwight Lowry was a beloved teammate on the Tigers 1984 World Series championship team. He died tragically at age 39 while working in our organization as a minor league coach. Last night, his daughter Amanda & son Zachary returned to Detroit for the first time since his passing.🧡
@abc In case you aren’t aware, the #Pistons are actually playing the Cavaliers tomorrow. Not a good way to build trust in media by running this during your Saturday morning news show. #detroitvseverybody
