@m19mao And what about after muller lift the 3% reduction in the next month or so? I can’t see them wanting to reduce their income!
High milk price = high milk production
With the milk market having a supply and demand crisis! @m19mao do you think the farms supplying Tesco and Co-op who have just had an increase on their already artificially high milk price, are going to work with the industry and help us all out by cutting production?
@dairycoos@m19mao@Minette_Batters @BBCCountryfile It could be that the only people to survive in dairy farming are the ones lucky enough to have a supermarket contract
What is the #nfu opinion on muller paying some of its farmers 25ppl and some of its farmers 31ppl? What are the #nfu going to do to help young dairy farmers like myself on an unattainable price? @m19mao@Minette_Batters @BBCCountryfile
@andrewreid75@m19mao@Minette_Batters @BBCCountryfile The supermarket contracts have been a mechanism for high input high output systems which has kept milk production high and kept the non aligned price low. It’s also increased inefficient systems that have had money thrown at them!
@SmaleRowland@NFUtweets@NFU_Dairy @NFUsouthwest Unfortunately dairy farmers have had aproblem with working together for 25years since the MMB was dissolved. The industry is more divided now more than ever. The aligned farmers aren’t worried at the moment with their 30ppl+ contracts.
@NFU_Dairy@m19mao Where were all the farmers saying we need to work together and that the government need financially help when Dairy farmers of Britain went bust?
@JoeWStanley@DefraGovUK@VictoriaPrentis As a young dairy farmer myself, I have managed to survive on 26-25ppl for about 18 months why can’t every dairy farmer run a business on this price? About time the #nfu did something to help every farmer and make the industry fair!
@JoeWStanley@DefraGovUK@VictoriaPrentis The dairy industry has been massively unfair for years. The only way to reduce milk production is to get rid of aligned contracts as these farms are high input high output systems flooding the market with milk.
