Num 2:34 "Thus the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses; so they camped by their standards..."
The tabernacle is a place to meet God and receive the word of God. We must live centered around the church. Church is like a home for the soul.
Num 2:17 "the tabernacle of meeting shall move out with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps..."
The Israelites camped around the tabernacle. It means living centered on God. God must be at the center of our hearts. If God is at our center, we will not fall.
John 10:3 "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out"
When we follow the words of Jesus, we can overcome the temptations of this world and be victorious.
Num 2:2 "Everyone of the children of Israel shall camp by his own standard beside the emblems of his father’s house..."
The Israelites had flags according to their tribes. It's important to know where we belong. A born again person is a child of God & belongs to Jesus Christ.
Num 2:34 "Thus the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses; so they camped by their standards..."
The Israelites camped & proceeded according to God's command. This is the secret to living well in the wilderness & the secret to our victory today.
Num 1:1 "Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of meeting..."
The tabernacle is a tent that is not fixed in one place but can be moved. Moses could hear God's voice from the tabernacle. The tabernacle is the place where the word of God comes.
Numbers 1:3 "from twenty years old & above—all who are able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall number them by their armies"
Because the Israelites lived as slaves in Egypt, they never received military education. However, if God is with us, we become the strongest army.
Number 1:3 "from twenty years old and above—all who are able to go to war in Israel"
Faith is a series of battles. We like peace and hate fighting. But God wanted the Israelites to conquer Canaan through war. Our war is already won by Jesus on the cross.
Exodus 15:25 "So he cried out to the Lord & the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet..."
The only way to escape bitter pain is to come to the cross of Jesus, receive forgiveness of sins & meet God. Life changes when you meet Jesus
Exo 15:22 "So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea...they went three days in the wilderness and found no water"
After crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites praised God. After 3 days they complained because they could not find water. God wanted to remove this heart of complaint.
1 Cor 10:2 "all were baptized into Moses in the cloud & in the sea"
The joy the Israelites experienced after passing through the Red Sea is the same joy we experience after being saved through Jesus. Through Jesus, our old self has been buried & we are reborn as a new person.
1 Cor 10:2 "all were baptized into Moses in the cloud & in the sea"
This verse refers to the Israelites crossing the Red Sea with Moses. Baptism is an act that declares our old self has died with the cross of Jesus Christ. The Israelites crossing the Red Sea represents baptism.
Gal 3:3 "Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?"
The purpose of Galatians was written for people who believed they were saved by grace but had to preserve salvation by keeping the law. Receiving salvation is by grace.
James 2:17 "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead"
Salvation is a change of master in a person's heart. A Christian goes from living a life where they are the master to Jesus. People feel the greatest joy when they live a life fulfilling the will of God.
Acts 15:11 "But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they”
The purpose of writing Romans was to tell people who believe that they are saved by faith, not by the works of the law. This is the gospel of grace.
Acts 15:9 "and made no distinction between us & them, purifying their hearts by faith"
Our hearts has already been contaminated by sin since birth due to Adam. Therefore, we cannot resolve sin through our own efforts. So God sent Jesus to die on the cross to forgive all sins.
Acts 15:2 "Paul & Barnabas had no small dissension & dispute with them..."
Here there is a dispute about salvation through the law of Moses or faith. The law is given to help us realize our sins. No one can be saved by the works of the law, it is only by the cross of Jesus.
Acts 15:1 "certain men came down from Judea & taught the brethren “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses you cannot be saved"
Apostle Paul said during his first mission trip that salvation does not come from works of the law, but from faith in the gospel.
Exodus 8:19 "Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.”
When the magicians saw dust turning into lice through Moses, they confessed before Pharaoh that this is the power of God. Only God can turn lifeless dust into something living.
Exodus 8:17 "For Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod & struck the dust of the earth, and it became lice..."
The 3rd plague was lice. Egyptian magicians tried to make it out of dust but couldn't. Only God can create life. Life is in God's world. Only Jesus can give life.
