@ImtaBrendan Students in tears where I was supervising. Felt so sorry for them. What's the point in setting a demanding syllabus in the first place with the objective then of "catching them out" on exam day. Surely the objective should be to assess their applications over the two years.

@IrishTimesEdu_@IrishTimes I would imagine this would actually increase systematic inequity - those who can afford a private diagnosis, know the system and have the capital to act on it. Certainly when the points race is at play.
@sccenglish Haven't read this book but I would after reading the excerpt in today's exam. A potential feel-good TY novel? (I don't know Arthur's fate, so I may be jumping the gun a bit. . . )
@conorsmurf Amazing how many schools still adopt this stringent rule. I see it in schools I've supervised in it. Principal A/B stating students must wear full uniform. . . As they stand there in short sleeve tops with shorts/summer dresses etc.
@jenhoganjourno Ridiculous that some schools 'demand' students wear uniforms in what invariably will be mid 20s at some stage. Some of the rooms I've supervised in are heat traps.
@conorsmurf Schools sold an expensive panacea by tech companies. Devices not charged, broken, digital illiteracy, games, Internet distraction, messaging each other, just some of the barriers to teaching & Learning. No wonder Sweden have removed devices from schools.

@ncseirl Timely. Recent research highlighting a lack of parental/teacher knowledge/understanding/supports for AEN learners in post-secondary transition.
@PhysInHistory Proved at the age of 41 making him "too old" for a Field's Medal. However having the school of Mathematics building named after you at the Univefsity of Oxford must be a close second.
Excellent English Meet 2026 at @sccdublin this evening. English teachers sharing effective practice from the own context. Excellent evening of professional learning and collaboration. Thanks @sccenglish for organising, your warm welcome and your insightful presentation.
