Had an important conversation with leaders of the Iranian diaspora in Australia, representing a community of around 90,000 who oppose the ayatollah regime and support efforts to weaken it and advance a democratic alternative.

I briefed them on the Iranian threat and the IDF’s actions against Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon, and thanked them for their strong support for Israel and the Jewish community in Australia.

Spoke with Australia’s FM @SenatorWong. We discussed at length developments in the war in Iran and Lebanon.

I emphasized the massive scale of missile, rocket, and drone attacks against Israel from Lebanon. Israel is acting to defend its communities and citizens. I described the reality of life these days in our northern communities, to which residents returned after over a year in which they didn't live in their homes.
Most international media outlets are currently portraying the situation on only one side of the border. Unfortunately, the Lebanese government is not taking practical steps against Hezbollah, neither to stop the attacks on Israeli civilians, nor in other contexts.

I welcomed the arrival of Australia’s new ambassador to Israel, Neil Hawkins, and expressed my gratitude for the swift acceptance of the credentials of our ambassador in Canberra, @Hillel_Newman.
