“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” - Acts 1:8
Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
@McDonalds Maybe this is what the @McDonalds employee was staring at when they only gave me one medium order of fries and not the two I ordered. Or maybe it’s what the customer care team was staring at when they would not resolve my problem.
@ScottJenningsKY Despite having a flight out of Terminal 1, Gate A8, I made the trek to the opposite side of Reagan National Airport to score an autographed copy of “A Revolution of Common Sense” by @ScottJenningsKY. Appreciate his strong stand for truth & his humor. Looking forward to this book!
“He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.” - John 21;17
Peter denied Jesus three times, so Jesus offered Him three opportunities to declare His love for Him. God restores and forgives perfectly.
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea” - Revelation 21:1
What a sight to see! Heaven is more beautiful than we could ever imagine.
“Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!” - John 19:5
Jesus was rejected by the Jews even though He was the rightful king and Messiah. One day He will return as conquering king, and every knee will bow.
“And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.” - 2 Chronicles 33:10
God patiently dealt with Manasseh, but he did not listen until he faced affliction. If only we would hearken to God when He first instructs us, we would be spared much pain.
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” - John 17:17
The Bible is the only eternal thing our eyes will see on earth, and it is the sole source of truth. By obeying God’s Word, we are sanctified and conformed into the image of Jesus Christ. We should study His Word.
“And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.” - 2 Chronicles 31:20-21
We should serve the Lord with all our heart, seeking those things that see good, right, and true. Only then will we truly prosper.
“This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” - John 15:12-13
Christ loved us so much He laid down His life for us. Remember Him and the greatest gift this Christmas Day!
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” - John 14:26
Thank the Lord for sending the Holy Spirit to abide with us and help us.
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” - John 13:34-35
We are to love others as Christ loves us. While we will never be able to love perfectly like He does, we should strive to emulate that perfect love, and be known as followers of Christ.
