Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists tortured, mutilated, and murdered 1,200 innocent civilians in Israel.
Among those slain were men, women, and children — including dozens of Americans.
We will never forget this act of barbarism against an ally and recommit ourselves to the defense of civilization.
Cannot emphasize this enough.
Proportionality in just war theory is not about calibrating the size of your response to match or not exceed what you suffered. It’s about choosing appropriate means to accomplish your goal. Means to ends not blow for blow.
A small response can be disproportionate if it is futile toward accomplishing a just end. A massive response can be proportionate if the aim is weighty and achievable. Defeating an aggressor is precisely the sort of thing that is a just end.
This is a humor piece but a serious matter. The Tennessee situation is appalling. Execution is not a medical procedure. It should not be something that could only be competently performed by a doctor. It’s an *execution.* A firing squad is entirely appropriate.
I was using ChatGPT for legal advice and it decided to completely hallucinate some preposterous nonsense about how growing wheat to use on my own farm somehow constitutes interstate commerce
Worth noting that the human shield strategy would be pointless if they believed Israel was willing to just target indiscriminately.
The only reason to do this is because Hamas/PIJ believe that having a child act as a human shield makes an Israeli action less likely.
That was the origin of Gell-Mann amnesia--Gell-Mann realized that the news story was never accurate about something he knew a lot about, but he never remembered that when he picked up the newspaper the next day.
Trump, the midterms, Congress, and the war. Preparing the voters and getting some sort of approval from Congress would have helped when things went wrong... https://t.co/teXZoX78GS
Incredible. First @SecMullinDHS claimed that @DHSgov identified 15,903 noncitizens on Nevada’s voter roll. Then DHS officials said, no no no, that’s just people we flagged, here’s the names of 185 people we KNOW aren’t citizens.
All 185 were citizens. DHS got 100% wrong.
Earlier this month ProPublica tried to blame prolife states post-Dobbs for a big recent increase in ectopic pregnancy deaths.
@Mr_Jamie_B_Hall accessed the underlying CDC data, and it tells a very different story:
The big jump in ectopic-related deaths occurs a year before Dobbs. So hard to pin it on Dobbs.
It occurs in both pro-life and pro-abortion states. Though it is higher in pro-life states.
What could the explanation be?
The big jump occurs right after the removal of the last remaining in-person safeguard for the abortion pill, and women in pro-life states probably purchased online mail-order abortion pills at higher rates than in pro-abortion states.
Hence the jump occurring when and where and at the rates it did.
The removal of the in-person dispensing requirement for the abortion pill, not Dobbs, is most likely to blame.

I rarely retweet myself, but Trump seems fixated on the excuse of “National Security” as his “I can do whatever I want” card, using it again in a Truth Social post about the Press outlets he banned, saying their “fake news” is “a threat to our National Security”. See a pattern here?
We are all utterly reliant on data centers. We use them constantly, and have for 20 years. We don’t always see them being used, but that does not mean that they aren’t there. You are using lots of them right this second. https://t.co/QYRSh1Yb2e
