Proactive Tax Practice - My Guiding Philosophy
Over the years, I’ve learned that when it comes to Tax matters (and every other professional area) , a preventive- proactive approach will always outshine a reactive- curative one.
I firmly believe in planning ahead and doing what is right from the very beginning.
Too often, I’ve seen cases where taxpayers only seek help after things have gone wrong ; when assessments, penalties or audits are already in motion. By then, the options are limited, timelines are tight and costs are high.
That’s why I always encourage individuals and businesses to embrace Tax Health Checks, timely reviews, and strategic compliance planning.
It’s not just about fixing problems , it’s about preventing them.
It’s not about reacting to KRA , it’s about staying a step ahead.
Because in tax (and in life), prevention isn’t just better than cure , it’s smarter, safer, and far more sustainable.
We joined the Hon. John Kaguchia, MP Mukurweini for the send off of his favourite Aunt Alice Wangui.
I took time to implore on state agencies like NCIC and DCI to refrain from being used to manage the country's political landscape.

Hospitals should NOT have "Customer Service Week."
Patients are NOT customers.
Customers have a choice:
• Patients are sick, they don't have a choice.
Customers are buying goods or services to fulfil their needs/wants;
• Patients are looking for a shelter (hospes) to heal from ill health, morbidity or infirmity.

It is untenable for Kenyans to shoulder a 1.5% Housing Levy, 2.75% SHIF contribution, 6% NSSF contribution and PAYE that can reach 35% while still facing exorbitant school fees, soaring rents, high fuel prices and endless medical fundraisers.
If citizens are taxed more but must continue paying privately for basic services, then the fundamental question is: what exactly are their taxes delivering?
Taxation must translate into tangible public services, not simply a heavier burden on working families.

Some people hate you for no reason they can explain. It’s not what you’ve done, but who you are and how far you’re growing. Your progress speaks for itself, and it hurts them.

Step 1: Introduce Ebola to Kenya through the Laikipia quarantine.
Step 2: Announce the first Ebola case and patient in Kenya.
Step 3: Initiate a lockdown and ban all political gatherings and foreign flights.
So far, steps 1 and 2 have been effected.

Hello KRA!
The two weeks you promised are over. Please update us.
- When will you turn on again, the feature that allows manually adding expenses that are missing from eTIMS when filing 2025 income tax returns?
Every taxpayer wants to file and give you money.
