"Those who control the present, control the past and those who control the past control the future."

17 year ago today I went into labour, on my 16th birthday. 3 days later I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. I thought I was saved from the horror I was living, being raped daily by gangs of men for years. I thought that we would both be saved and we would get to a safe place and live happily ever after. Instead they took her from me because "i was exposed to a pedophile ring and it wasnt safe for a child", yet they left me there to carry on being raped.
17 years ive lived without her. Without knowing where she is or if she is even alive. Ive missed her first everything. I sometimes lay and imagine hiw she will look or what she is like. There will always be a part of me missing that went when they took her. There will always be grief for every second I live without her in my life, and no amount of justice will ever bring that back. No amount of accountability on failings will ever fix that.
Every year on my birthday I struggle knowing that 3 days later im missing her birthday and that its another year added onto my grief.
This year has been harder than normal with everything else going on and the trauma this has all dragged up for me.
Im normally the strong one. The one that picks things up for the others and helps them fight. Thats there listening to them and helping them through their suffering. But right now im barley even getting through each day and I feel like im letting everyone down.
Im trying to pick myself back up and face everything head on but its not as easy as I wish it was. Im 33 year old today and what happened to me as a child still haunts each and every day, each and every dream and every part of my life. Its left scars that will never heal and a burden thats hard to carry. Im sorry to everyone thats having to deal with seeing my statuses as I know they are alot different lately than they normally are but I really think its important that people understand the level of trauma left for the victims to deal with and the failings still coming along with that. Everyone sees me holding things together on TV and fighting all the time, but in reality I still have to deal with so much that sometimes the load can become unbearable.
Recently is one of them times.

BRITAIN'S NEWEST HOMES KEEP CATCHING FIRE
Tammi Atherton, 54, was sat watching Wimbledon in her newbuild home on July 4 when the fire alarm went off. She checked the house with her son Ben, 21. Nothing obvious. Then a neighbour started banging on the door screaming that the roof was on fire.
Tammi and Ben ran outside in bare feet with their dog Oakley at around 12.45pm. The roof was already engulfed. Eight fire crews and four police cars turned up. It took four hours to bring under control. The roof collapsed before anyone could stop it.
Her daughter Molly, 24, was in her garden in Bristol when her brother called. She drove over an hour with her partner and dad and arrived to find her brother just standing there watching the family home and everything in it burn.
The fire service suspects the solar panels started it.
The estate was built two years ago by housing association Curo Group @Curo_Group. Molly says Curo were less than helpful, telling the family that because her mum owns the house, Curo can't get involved. Curo has since apologized, launched two investigations, and told every other household on the estate to switch their solar panels off. Presumably before anyone asks why they were left switched on.
This is the second newbuild solar fire this summer. In May a £600,000 home in Wellingborough had its roof blow open with three adults and a child still inside, saved only because an off duty firefighter happened to be doing DIY nearby. UK fire crews are now tackling a solar panel fire roughly every two days.
Britain's answer to net zero was bolting untested rooftop tech onto newbuild estates and selling it as progress. Nobody seems to have stress tested what happens when the climate solution becomes the fire risk.
The Athertons have lost everything. The house has been declared structurally unsafe. They can't go home. Curo gets to issue a statement and move on.
If your newbuild has solar panels fitted by the same developer, maybe don't wait for the fire alarm to find out how well they were installed.

SHE FILMED THE TRUTH INSIDE BRITISH CLASSROOMS
In 2005 science teacher Alex Dolan strapped on a hidden camera and walked into 4 schools in Leeds and London.
What she filmed was not shocking to anyone who has ever set foot in a British secondary school. Pupils fighting on desks. Kids swearing in teachers faces.
Staff shuffling the worst behaved pupils out of the building the moment Ofsted @Ofstednews turned up to inspect.
@Channel4 aired the footage as Undercover Teacher, part of the Dispatches @C4Dispatches strand.
Leeds City Council went to the High Court to try to block it. A judge refused the injunction and ruled the programme served the public interest.
Watching a school fake its way through an inspection turns out to be exactly the kind of thing the public has an interest in.
So naturally the system did what it does best. It went after the person who filmed the problem instead of the problem itself.
The General Teaching Council spent 4 years building a case against Dolan. In March 2009 it found her guilty of unacceptable professional conduct for breaching the trust of the pupils she filmed.
Not the staff accused of hiding disruptive kids from inspectors. Not the school that burned through 26 supply teachers in a single year. Her.
She was suspended from teaching for 12 months.
Channel 4's own deputy head of news at the time said publicly it was wrong to punish a whistleblower for this kind of work and that the messenger should not be shot.
Press Gazette @pressgazette called the ruling a sad day for journalism. That was generous.
Dolan left teaching and became a weather presenter for BBC Look East, which is either the most British redemption arc going or proof that forecasting rain is safer than forecasting institutional failure.
No school she filmed faced a tribunal. No member of staff accused of gaming an Ofsted inspection faced a tribunal. The teacher who exposed it did.

This is nonsense.
Over the last century, there has been no increase in heatwaves in the United States, as confirmed in a new paper just published in the Journal of Theoretical and Applied Climatology. Christy (2026) states very clearly,

I hope everyone will read Dave Ramsey’s comments about going cashless. It’s a two minute read. No one has explained it better. He brings up several situations I'd never considered.
I took this picture of my receipt in my beautiful town Kerrville Texas. I support this and I can see how this could affect our kids by having gaps in work ethic, financial literacy, and community connection.
Dave Ramsey repost:
HERE'S WHAT NO CASH ACTUALLY MEANS:
A cashless society means no cash. Zero. It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’. Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. I think those who support a cashless society aren’t fully aware of what they are asking for. A cashless society means:
* If you are struggling with your mortgage on a particular month, you can’t do an odd job to get you through.
* Your child can’t go & help the local farmer to earn a bit of summer cash.
* No more cash slipped into the hands of a child as a good luck charm or from their grandparent when going on holidays.
* No more money in birthday cards.
* No more piggy banks for your child to collect pocket money & to learn about the value of earning.
* No more cash for a rainy day fund or for that something special you have been putting $20 a week away for.
* No more little jobs on the side because your wages barely cover the bills or put food on the table.
* No more charity collections.
* No more selling bits & pieces from your home that you no longer want/need for a bit of cash in return.
* No more cash gifts from relatives or loved ones.
What a cashless society does guarantee:
* Banks have full control of every single penny you own.
* Every transaction you make is recorded.
* All your movements & actions are traceable.
* Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you which will take about 3 weeks, a thousand questions answered & five thousand passwords.
* You will have no choice but to declare & be taxed on every dollar in your possession.
* The government WILL decide what you can & cannot purchase.
* If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’.
Forget about cash being dirty. Stop being so easily led. Cash has been around for a very, very, very long time & it gives you control over how you trade with the world. It gives you independence.
If you are a customer, pay with cash. If you are a shop owner, remove those ridiculous signs that ask people to pay by card. Cash is a legal tender, it is our right to pay with cash. Banks are making it increasingly difficult to lodge cash.
Please open your eyes. Please stop believing everything you are being told. Almost every single topic in today’s world is tainted with corruption & hidden agendas.
Pay with cash & please say no to a cashless society while you still have the choice.
Wool is a technology so good that if a startup unveiled it tomorrow, it would raise a fortune.
Run through the spec sheet with a straight face.
It keeps you warm even when it's soaking wet, which almost nothing else does. It is naturally flame-resistant. It doesn't catch and melt onto your skin like plastic does. It chars, refuses to sustain the flame, and puts itself out when you take the fire away. It manages moisture, breathes, and resists smell so well you can wear it for days. It bends tens of thousands of times without snapping.
And when you're finally done with it, you can put it in the ground and in a matter of months it's gone, rotted back into the soil, feeding it nitrogen on the way out.
Then there's the supply chain, which is the part no engineer could ever replicate. It grows back. Every year, on its own, on nothing but grass and rain, on a sheep that was going to stand on that hillside anyway. A self-renewing, fireproof, compostable insulation fibre with a production input of weather.
We replaced it with polyester. Oil, spun into thread, that melts on you in a fire, sheds plastic into the sea with every wash, and sits in landfill for centuries when you're done.
We had the better version the whole time. It says baa.

A few people have responded to my recent vocal anti folic acid in flour posts with "well, just don't buy it then".
Two points in response:
1. I don't eat much bread. I'm speaking out on behalf of those who do, but don't know about folic acid. Me silently avoiding white bread isn't going to help. Everyone has a right to be able to go food shopping without having to examine minute ingredient lists and worry their own government is poisoning them.
2. If we are all constantly switching away from staple foods for health reasons: avoiding white flour with folic acid, milk from sick, non-burping cows, food with toxic seed oils, apples with Apeel on the skin, and who knows what next, we will be left with an ever-diminishing list of things that are actually healthy to eat.
We all need to push back on this now, before all of our food is adulterated with God knows what.
On today's date in 1901, over half of the U.S. was at or above 90°F and nearly 9% of the land area was at least 100°F. The same weather occurring this week occurred exactly 125 years ago, but according to most climate alarmists, it was just weather in 1901, but this week's three-day event is undeniable proof that we are facing a climate catastrophe.
Watch the pattern. It only ever runs one way.
When butter was demonised, Unilever was ready with margarine.
When lard and tallow were demonised, Procter and Gamble was ready with Crisco.
When eggs were demonised, Kellogg's was ready with a bowl of cereal.
When red meat was demonised, Cargill was ready with soy.
When breastfeeding was demonised as backward, Nestlé was ready with formula.
When leather was demonised, BASF was ready with plastic cut to look like hide.
When wool was demonised, ExxonMobil was ready with the feedstock for polyester.
When animal fat itself was demonised, seed oil climbed from industrial waste to the most used cooking fat on earth.
Every one of them was a food or a fibre humans had thrived on for thousands of years, condemned at the exact moment a cheaper factory copy was sitting ready on the shelf.
The product came first. The science came trotting along behind it, right on cue, the instant there was a substitute to sell.
Follow the money. The advice starts to make a great deal more sense.
Swiss farmers planted flowers between their crops and watched pest damage drop by over half. The UK is now running the same trial across 15 farms. The reason this works is embarrassingly simple.
A Swiss study on winter wheat found that fields with wildflower strips had 40 to 53% fewer leaf beetle pests than fields without. Crop damage dropped 61%.
The mechanism is simple. Wildflowers feed hoverflies, lacewings, parasitic wasps, ladybugs, and ground beetles. Those insects eat the aphids, beetle larvae, and caterpillars that farmers would otherwise spray for. A few meters of wildflowers hosts an unpaid pest control crew that would jump at the chance to whoop some aphid ass.
In apple orchards where no insecticides had been used for five years, plots with wildflower alleyways had 9.2% damaged fruit. Control plots without flowers had 32.5%.
The UK is now running a five-year trial across 15 farms placing 6-meter flower strips through the middle of fields, not just at the edges, because the beneficial insects can't reach the center of a large field otherwise.
This works the same way in a backyard vegetable garden as it does on a commercial farm. Plant native flowering species near your tomatoes, beans, and squash. The pests still show up, but the predators show up too.

The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Lisa Nandy’s departure from X has rightly raised eyebrows.
But, as @RobertJenrick has pointed out, there is something even more sinister going on. Just 10 days ago, Lisa Nandy told the House of Commons that the Government plans to force social media companies to promote what it deems to be “trustworthy” news providers.
The Government is trying to dictate what you see online.
This is beyond dystopian.
