When my wife's OB asked if she wanted to have an amniocentesis, she asked what it would show. He told her that it could let us know if our baby possibly had down syndrome. And she asked what if it did. He said that it would give her options. She said "What options? My only option is to love the child no matter what. Thank you but I don't need the test.".
The doctor actually told her that he was really glad to hear her say that.
