On this day in 1981, Van Halen released Fair Warning. 🔥
Darker, heavier, and a little less radio-friendly than what fans expected, it still moved over two million copies—but stands as the slowest-selling album of the David Lee Roth era. Critics, however, saw it differently, praising the album’s raw edge and deeper sound.
Underrated… or exactly what it was meant to be? 👇🏼
On this day in 1980, Black Sabbath released Heaven and Hell—a powerful new chapter in the band’s legacy. 🔥
Recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami and Studio Ferber in Paris, the album introduced Ronnie James Dio on vocals. Dio also brought in producer Martin Birch (from his Rainbow days), marking Sabbath’s first outside producer since Rodger Bain on 1971’s Master of Reality.
The result was a more melodic sound that helped carry Sabbath into a new era—while honoring everything that came before.
